Man I've purchased so many Twinkly lights and have had about a 50% defect rate. Either an LED doesn't work at all, one of the colors doesn't work, or it won't connect to WiFi. They were supposed to have a big app update with better customization effects last year but it never happened. Despite all the issues, I still love them. FYI you can only link lights that are the same generation.

I have been looking at these for a couple of seasons. Have not pulled the trigger because of lack of app support. They are just too expensive to not work perfectly.

Oh man, I hear you. I purchased some bluetooth smart Christmas lights from amazon many years ago and the app doesn't exist anymore. I was able to find the files online and side load it onto a kindle fire just to get the dang things working. I always worry about these companies just up and disappearing now. However, twinkly seems to be growing very fast (probably explain the defect rate) so hopefully they are around to stay. In fact, they just released some new lightstrip products.

Bought these for my tree last year and they're beautiful. Can second the WiFi issue sometimes but it wasn't too often luckily. Received tons of compliments!

I bought a 600 light set for $200 last year. Get this now as it gets marked up or sold out towards the holidays. I did my roof edge. Not optimal as the SW does not really cooperate with scanning a linear setup so basically you need to leave it as the default "tree". Still looked great. Had no issues. Note that it does not connect to the cloud it would not let me link if I wasn't on the same wifi as the lights.

We're kinda picky about our warm white. Will this produce a good warm white or does it feel weird?

No.. beginning by the power. For the 600 two 300s come out from the same power module.

From what I remember even this 600 one that isn't their "special edition" with white has every white you could want available.

Have used mine from Halloween to after New Years. No issues. Everyone loves them!

Recommend the 600 for 7' and taller trees. Lots of lights to make the animations better.

They say they are. Does anyone use these outside with an extension cord? I have an idea for putting them on one side of a 15ft Blue Spruce. I was able to wrap around a 9ft tree okay so I am thinking that may work. Wanted to see what the group thought first before diving in. Hoping to keep them up all year as they are so versatile in colors and themes.

The Chinese make pretty much all LED's. These and are sold in the US as Twinkly brand, which Twinkly is based in Milan, Italy under LEDWORKS S.R.L. It's hard to tell if they are UL Rated or not. I can't find anything that states they are. They have some certifications for PROP65 California lead testing and other certs, but I can't find a box pic that shows the UL symbol. The Chinese also make all the WS281x pixels for holiday lighting enthusiasts. I had 15,000 WS2811 bullet pixels in my display last year all synched to music. This year I will bump up to 25k-30k (my 3rd year fully decorating with pixels). There are many in our xLights group that do this around the world. Twinkly just allows a more simple app control, although we can us ESP sticks with WLED to have more app control with WS281x lights if needed. Otherwise it's more controller and software based.
