This is the 2nd lowest the 13.5 amp version has ever been (at least on Amazon).

Alternatively, the 12 amp model TJ603E version https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00V6IE...=emc_b_5_t is on sale for 89.10 which is the 3rd lowest its ever been on Amazon. I opted for the larger model with the extra 1.5 amps for the 9 bucks.

It's a weaker machine though.

The price of this particular tiller has been dropping since the begining of this month (June) ... from $130 to now $98. If you can combine it when one of those credit card reward linked offers, e.g. Discover, this will be a fanastic deal.

Great find, OP. I was thinking about buying the Certified Refurb 604E through eBay with the 15% off coupon for the same price. I know it's probably as good as new, but I'd rather not take the chance.

The only thing to watch out for is the gauge of the extension cable. The 13 amp version may require a higher gauge than the 12 amp, which is why I went with the 12 amp version.

Is this good to dig up bad / weedy grass to plant new grass or more for gardens/flower beds?

My backyard is all hard dirt, weeds and rocks I want to plant new grass seed. Would I need to wet the hard dirt first?

Good thing, Both 12 and 13 amp versions require 14g for 50ft and 12g for 100ft. Some folks may not be a aware.

Thx man I looked up a YouTube vid last night and was sold. Thing looks like a beast. Have a ton of orchard grass and other BS taking over can't wait to destroy it with this bad boy. Bought a like new version to save five bucks because I'm a cheap ass and it's prob fine nice post!

Any suggestions on what seed to plant? Looking for something soft... I hear Kentucky blue grass is nice.

depends where youre at. here in Texas its usually Bermuda or St. Augustine. Personally i like Bermuda better but only the higher grade seeds like 419. SA is more drought and weed resistant so there's that.
