not knocking the price or anything, but i have to say, the used market such as offerup, cl, facebook market is flooded with baby items car seat included. Most of these have removable covers that you can machine wash. if you trying to save money and plus most kids will outgrow these in months or a few year, you can get a decent car seat for under a $100 or $50. and don't waste money on strollers neither. you can get all these in the use market for half to three quarter off.

I'm all for buying used but there's no way I'm getting something as important as my child's carseat from some rando off Facebook. You have no idea where it's been or what they've done to it. Maybe a trusted friend or family member. But please don't use carseats that you don't know the full history of!

Yeah sounds like they buy used earbuds too. Absolutely gross. There are some things just don't buy used.

This car seat is actually good from birth to the time they grow out of a car seat so you will definitely get more than a few years out of it.

Also, keep in mind most car seats have a 5 year expiration date (this one is 10 which is really nice) due to the materials deteriorating. Check the date on any car seat you buy used.

Finally, note that once a car seat has been involved in any crash it is supposed to be replaced (auto insurance will even cover it).

So without knowing where the car seat has been or what happened to it, I would never buy one used.

Agreed. This is one of those situations where penny-wise, pound foolish applies.

Just for some notes on this particular model, it has the best LATCH/ISOFIX connectors around this price point (Britax makes great seats and I love the anti-rebound bar, but those metal hooks are a real pain).

Though bulkier/heavier than some, this car seat should be at the top of you list for a model that requires moving from car to car. For front facing there are few car seats I could recommend more. Until the ARB becomes more common I still default to Britax as the recommendation for rear-facing. And the convenience of infant seats are hard to beat even if they are truly a luxury.
