So why is this better than the u7g that's about to come out which will be less? I'm more in it for gaming so I think I should hold off til the u7g has a sale hopefully near BF.

edit...nevermind...I'm holding off til BF at least

off avs

"Only two notable differences between the U7G and U8G is that the latter just has more local dimming zones and can get even brighter. Otherwise one can't go wrong with either one, if one doesn't need the extra brightness and dimming zones and just overall wanna save a few bucks, the U7G could be a great more affordable U8G alternative.

I agree. Plus the U7G has the 75" unlike the U8G"

and

"Some of the key differences between U7(8)G and U8(8)G are the following:
Peak 1000 v peak 1500 nits
Dimming zones 72/90* vs. 132/360
Screen size availability 55/65/75 vs. 55/65
Feet - adjustable 65" + exterior feet vs. centre pedestal base"

True, if you don't mind waiting until BF, I'm sure we'll see better prices by then. Also, I need to put mine in a bright room, so the U8G will perform better in my scenario.
