Fellow knife snob here. Would I buy these, are they commercial quality, are they beautiful layered waves of japanese steel? No... But you know what, they're 5 knives for $12, and they're probably sharper than a lot of knives out there, so if you're in the market and don't want do drop $65 on a Misen chefs knife...

Go for it!

If it makes you happy and you think it's a good buy for your needs, who gives a hoot what all the naysayers have to say. Way too many people coming to SD just to crap all over things that aren't up to "their standard". Promoted or not, treat yo self if you want some knives on the cheap.

Believe the Prime day deal was 12 piece with colored handles. There are two different sets listed here. Thought the colors were for looks but it is useful for those with food allergies or observing traditions requiring that the utensils are not mixed.

Great set of knives. Purchased from Costco for around the same price and been using them every day for over a year.

Knives are fine. We use the orange one as a dedicated package opener. Leave it out on the counter. The others are backup for my main knife set. And they work.

Just curious:
- is it BestBuy that puts knives of sale and then Amazon's bot scans BB ad and matches the price?
OR
- did it go first on sale at Amazon and BestBuy had no other choice but to match Amazon's price?

The knives in the thumbnail look intriguing. The actual ones look like playschool garbage. If you look at the photos, you'll see multiple examples of the knife pulling out of the cheap plastic handle due to a tiny inch long tang that looks to be barely glued into place and the color on these things is a cheap coating that will come off on whatever you're cutting. The 9,000 reviews with a 4.8/5 rating is a huge 'fake reviews' red flag for me too.

I would pass on these, even for the price.

Knives are high quality. I've been using only the blue one for years and it'll still cut through a watermellon like butter.

Wondering if these are the only decent option for a camping option. Anyone have a better set in mind?

They are great for SD, that's all the promoted posts are good for.
