If you have Paypal Key you can get this to work as a Mastercard Debit funded by the Discover. Opens up lots of opportunities.

Log in to your PayPal account and create the PayPal key. Set the Discover card as the payment method for it. You will have a new "virtual" card number, expiration date, and security code that you enter in just like any other credit/debit.
As previously mentioned, this awesome with PayPal Key linked to your Discover card. You can treat it like a debit card to avoid a lot of fees, and use at places that don't normally accept PayPal (like Amazon), allowing you to get the 5% bonus on the Discover

I cannot see how you would not, but I would test it before doing a big purchase to verify.

Why don't Chase Freedom do this PP 5% category?
They usually do in the 4th quarter. Last year I maxed all of my Freedom's via Paypal and Paypal Key. Awesome six months ahead if they do this again.

Hottest cashback right now is the Chase Freedom Flex with first year 5% grocery stacking with quarterly grocery 5% giving you a 10% kickback. Enjoy.

It requires some sort of capped fee promo, and requires a large group of people, If I buy from you and you buy from me, we will both get flagged. It's actually more profitable with eBay payment system if we can have a capped fee promo. Right now you keep the paypal fee in exchange for much higher final value fee eBay is now charging. But if fee can be capped then we will have a more profitable scheme making 3% more than before. The reason Sep 27 2019 was the deal of the century was because Raku10 had bonus cash back, for few times including 9/27/19 the $100 off and eBay Bucks promo had one day overlap. But occasionally we had a couple of bonus Raku10 cash back on eBay while eBay Bucks promo was running.

Having eBay payment blows. I used to pay my doctor and contractors and other bills using the eBay scheme by adding paypal email address of the payee in the bogus item I list on eBay. Now I can no longer do that to earn extra from paying them using paypal. I doubt eBay will ever run another $100 off (for 15% or 20% off) promo.
I've not seen any doctor offer to take PayPal. I've not asked. eBay could easily crack down on this and yet it sounds like it worked for a significant period of time.

Quick question. How it saves if you use to discover card to pay taxes? My tax time is due also. I believe if we pay the tax due by using a credit card there will be an extra fee for that payment. (from card companies). Is that right?
Use paypal, earn 5%. Fee is 2%.

Agree, had a Chrome for years then I realized I needed an IT because I had no quarterly bonus card. Note: if you have a Chrome card you can ask for a product change with no credit check needed but it takes affect next statement.

The only thing I don't like, they want my DOB and SSN. I have been on PP for years and years, never needed to provide this info, suddenly now they need it. Why? I'm thinking about not registering for the key and just using Discover as payment and that's all. But thanks again for the help. I never would have found it otherwise.
So you gave your Details? Necessary to get the PayPal key? This is what they say: "Federal law requires us to collect your date of birth and the last 4 digits of your SSN to confirm your identity. We won't use it for any other purpose."
… just use it like a virtual card anywhere?

They don't make that kind of offer. Usually if they have private practice then they might be more flexible with billing. Some will only care if they get paid and not how they get paid. When they wanted personal check I asked if the doctor take paypal. Most don't but a couple of mine did. Doctors that work at the hospitals or clinics most likely won't let you send payment using other methods. One of my doctor even covered the paypal fee. So if I owed him $500, I just had to buy a $500 bogus item with his paypal address.

Other people suggested this on SD when they couldn't figure out what they wanted to buy with 15% off $100 off coupon, but their method is too simple and easy to get caught. I suspect some people did get caught. Not one person in my group got caught for almost 20 years. We easily rake in a few grand of free money every year until eBay started watering down the eBay Bucks deals and got rid of the $100 off discount. The most risky round we did was when eBay had the 15% off $100 max on Home and Garden. Most of us sold $666.67 generators or lawnmowers. eBay didn't care at all.

It is 9%, not 10%. 1 + 4 + 4.
