The usual sale price, but I have to add, this controller setup is AWESOME! I HATE Joy-Cons. To me they feel like the worst controller ergonomics ever in a handheld/gaming system/console/whatever. I even prefer the Switch Lite setup setup better. But these Hori controllers made all the difference in the world. I actually started using my Switch in handheld mode after getting these. Worth nothing though, they are just dumb controllers. No internal battery, no motion/IR/vibration/etc in them. They ONLY slide on the sides and work as controllers. They do however offer reassignable buttons and a turbo button capability. Ive never used those features, but there is at least that much added to what a normal Joy-Con offers.

FWIW before buying the Hori Split Pad Pros I was only able to play turn based games in portable mode.

They aren't nearly as ergonomic as the Pro controller, but they don't cramp my hands as easily as stock Joy-Cons. Directional pad is ok, wish it were more responsive for games like Super Meat Boy. Same with the buttons. They do feel nice however.

I tried these out before. Definitely felt weird since I have small hands. The switch felt heavier and I lost Gyro control. Ended up returning it. I found the Joy con controller to be better.

Just recently got these and they are a God-sent for playing handheld. They are unusable as joycons/wireless, and do not have motion controls, other than that, these are such a major upgrade to the portable playing experience.

Also, a company called "butterfox" makes a very affordable case that accommodates these:

I don't regret buying these and the case at all, well worth the money.

I have a Satisfye ZenGrip I slide the Switch into for handheld mode. You get all the advantages of using the JoyCons but it's as comfortable as something like this. Best of both worlds.

These are great but during the last sale I saw a comment talk about the binbok controllers and I got those instead. Have to say the binboks are awesome! Just like the hori split pad except they offer rumble and you can use them detached from the switch. People say the Dpad on the binboks aren't great and I can see that but it doesn't bother me much.

Just FYI, there is a newer version of the binbok controller which has a better Dpad but it is also a much slimmer controller. The original version is much bigger and closer in size to the hori split pad. If you have larger hands or find you want better ergonomics, go with the original thicker version.

+1 for the Satisfye grip, it's an absolute game changer for ergonomics and comfort while in handheld mode.

Just FYI. No gyro aiming with this controller so if you are planning on playing games like BotW, you can't do some puzzle and will have a hard time aiming.

Other than gyro controls these controllers are vastly superior to joycons though. The analog sticks and buttons are bigger and better and it has a nice d pad. The joycon d pad in particular is totally unusable in many games.

I will add that the Satisfye felt better in hand than the Hori, but they were significantly heavier, which was a dealbreaker for me.

I bought the Hori as well during the last sale but also saw the comments about the Binbok controllers. I ended up not being crazy about the Hori - the buttons felt good but I didn't like the lack of rumble and overall didn't feel it was worth the price for me - so I returned them and eventually tried the Binbok ones. Hands down, the Binbok is the better controller imo. Better contoured to grip, better buttons and joysticks, and an excellent rumble feature. There was a lightning deal on them the other day that I posted but it got taken down due to being a third party deal, or something.

Anyway I'm sure this is a "to each their own" situation so try these at this price but if you don't love them then give the Binbok a whirl.

All the disadvantages too Stick Out Tongue
Since release I've had two sets of Joy-Cons drift, and the directional pad is not great.

That said, pretty solid alternative. ZenGrip Pro is one of the better grips I've tried. If I didn't buy the elite bundle I probably would have kept it (accessories sucked imo).

Makes some games easier as well, e.g Astral Chain (when moving cargo boxes). But yeah, kind of sucks for the few shrines in BotW that need gyro.

What bothered me more was the lack of rumble. Sheikah sensor is not completely unusable, but the lack of haptic feedback was a big minus for me. Then there's games like Mighty Gunvolt Burst that only have haptic feedback, so the dowsing ability is completely useless on the Hori.

It's definitely not as comfortable as this. I've tried the Satisfye and the angle makes you hands more comfortable but does nothing for the angle of the sticks/buttons.

Can someone comment on the size? I bought the satisfye , and i felt it's too big, and went back to using just the joycon. Will this one feel better?

I thought when playing handheld the gyroscope is inside the switch and not the controllers?
