Exactly! If you want to build or maintain your own system then go buy you own parts and to it. Do not even bother coming to threads about pre-built systems made by Acer, Apple, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, ect.

I do not go to threads about bread telling people you are better of sourcing your own ingredients and baking your own bread.

We have 3 of those G5 systems reviewed in that video with various graphics cards, 16GB ram, 1TB NVMe drives, and a clean install of Windows 10. All are performing very well and we have not seen any heat or performance issues. My kids play the newest games on them daily (CSGO, Doom: Annihilation, TF2, HOI4, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, ect.) While simultaneously having YouTube open, a couple web pages, and messenger programs. I feel as though the build quality was quite good for the price I paid. I could not be more satisfied with our purchase.

This Dell XPS system would be a great fit, for home, office, students, coders, CAD, miners, and even casual gamers. Pretty much everyone except PC gamer enthusiast that like to build and maintain their own systems.

If you are just an normal person that wants to get a good deal on a good PC that will probably never be opened, and the only real maintenance you do is reinstall Windows ever couple of years to clean the system up. Then this system is perfect for you.

Bad parts: If you're a hardcore gamer, go build your own system. No pre-built will meet your expectations. If you find a pre-built that meets your technical requirements, it will not meet your budget because you are paying for the service of having parts acquired and assembled. Dell gives no indication anywhere on it's site that these systems are future-proof or upgradable. So stop thinking that these are future-proof or upgradable.

Hidden charges: No. When you price out a Dell, they list things as "Included" and have up charged extras, and sometimes they have downgradable options to save you a few bucks. They set the options and the prices. You can't tell them to add or remove something from a configuration that they don't want to add or remove. The fact that they saw the On-site 1-year service as an itemized line doesn't mean it was a hidden charge, and "included" doesn't mean "free". Gamers Nexus is stupid to think that "included" means "free". It means that it's included in the price they were quoted and they wished it didn't exist. Too bad. The bit about the forced monthly subscription that you have to actively opt out of WAS true. The video says that Dell changed it and it no longer exists.

GN does nothing but complain about every single thing they review. The few things I've seen them recommend still contain backhanded insults. Nothing will ever satisfy them. That's their shtick.

I would take this over HP pre-built with 3060. It is priced well given the CPU and GPU. 2x8GB RAM would be better. Still may need to upgrade CPU fan tho..

Gah!! I got the i5-11600K, BD RW drive, 1660 super, 2x8 RAM, 256 M2 +1Tb HD for nearly the same price, but have to wait to Aug 5th for delivery.

Granted, the K processor comes with the VRM heatsink and the tower fan cooler.

What to do, what to do!?

Go watch gamers nexus recent video on Dell pre-builts before you buy this. Just know what you are likely in for. Not saying you shouldn't buy it, but know you will probably need to modify things.

For the same price this is a much better deal. The 11700 will be roughly the same in games but much better in well-threaded workloads, and the 2060 Super is much faster than the 1660 Super (and it can take advantage of raytracing/DLSS). Plus the SSD is twice the size. Add a cheap CPU cooler and another 16gb stick of RAM and you're good to go.

There is also a YMMV Amex offer for $120 off of $600+ at Dell so that would knock $120 off for those who have the Amex offer.

I'd cancel that and get this.

Do you need a separate code for the Amex offer or just use the Amex card?

If you are after GPU, have a look if HP have some promotion for those builds.
