Same price at most online stores. Look at those that have additional 4th July coupons. For example, I snagged the 530 MTB bundle from the-house outdoor shop, they have $20 off every $100, additionally pay pal gave me $15 off the entire order from the-house totalling $260 with tax & shipping for the MTB bundle. They had the 530 alone but it was quickly oos. Good luck!

Seems to be the new normal price after a quick Google search.

Waiting for the "why can you use your phone" flamewar this usually leads to.

Why would you buy this when your phone does it all with any number of free apps or even paid apps for far less?
Try to get accurate gps info when you do not have cell service.

You can get accurate gps without cell. The issue is mapping. And you can pull google maps offline and download them. I have downloaded maps for the main places I go.

I'm guessing the gps antenna are better in this, but that map is horrendous and hard to read.

If your gps doesn't work without cell service, you might not actually have gps.

Sure. My dedicated gps devices are insanely more accurate than my phone (pixel 3). When I'm hiking in the middle of nowhere I'd never rely on my phone. Even driving down the 405 in LA my phone will lose exact position. If you never require accurate gps sure, use your phone, you are not the demographic for something like this.

If your phone doesn't have GPS you would have a pretty crappy phone. I've been using a small Kyocera phone as a standalone GPS for years and it cost me $15 new from Target. I use Locus Maps for which I paid $10 for a lifetime license and it works great. I used the Backcountry Navigator app before that and it was good too. I recently acquired a Garmin 66i (GPS + satellite communicator) and it's a heap of junk. It works as designed but that doesn't say much. My phone mapping apps are like 20 years more advanced. Yes the Garmin is more rugged and can be used with gloves, but IMHO that's simply not enough to justify buying one. 20 years ago Garmin was the GPS to get, but now they're pathetic because they are still basically the same product. Most people who buy them seem to like them, but I think most of those people already know what they're getting beforehand. If you've been using a phone app and then go buy a Garmin thinking it will somehow be better... boy are you in for a big disappointment.

For me it was overheating. A phone on a bike stem mount taking full summer sunlight and doing mapping plus start display does not go well.

Stop responding to the idiots who know nothing about the deal's use case. They just want attention. Leave them be.
