Can you use "pay yourself back" to pay the Staples charge?

Doesn't really solve the spend issue. Just allows you to delay the spend time requirement from three months to indefinitely. Plus you put yourself at more risk of someone skimming away your money and/or losing the card. Or forgetting to spend it.

Ask the Manager on duty to see if they keep these in lockup.. Few stores have their own rules.

Must it be a manager? Last time i asked the cashier/storefront associate and nothing. Whats the point of these rules?

Sometimes they have too many merchant gift cards to be displayed. High valued and slow moving gift cards are usually in a lockup. I needed to ask the mangers to get me the $200 Mastercard last week when they had no fee on it. Tried both stores and all hidden in both stores.

Anyone know a good way to liquidate for under 2%? My organic spend isn't fast enough I guess. PM if you don't want to reply publicly.

Obviously you are hiding ways you manufacture spend. Not everyone has the time or patience to manufacture spend away these cards. Plus there are fees for manufactured spend. I'm sure there are some free ways but typically those methods are limited on how much you can do.

Either tell the world how you manufacturer spend or you are the one who doesn't understand how this works for most people.

Property tax, pge, Plastiq, irs are all methods for regular bills but are all over 2%. Go read flyertalk if you want to get into the nitty gritty of manufactured spending but it's alot of work.

All of these above methods don't require this intermediate step of visa gift cards either. Save you some extra work.

If you are doing IRS, it makes no sense to do it with the $200 cards - you want to use a $500 card or $1000 card from Simon Mall.

None of these ever happen to me, have done it for almost 8 years.
If you register all the cards when you get them, properly record down the cards number in a encrypt file. Properly inventory it. Have a plan on how to use it.

Forgetting to spend is the lamest excuse . If you are a careless person you are just bound to loss money PERIOD
