The concept of this thing is awesome but the device itself is just not good. Performance is weak, battery life is short, camera is borderline UNUSABLE, no NFC, mediocre screens. Tried it for a week but couldn't get past all the flaws. I also don't trust Microsoft to keep it properly or timely updated.

Really the only complain for me was the camera. I actually felt the camera was not usable.
Performance was adquent for me; screens are vivid and bright; battery lasts full day and I don't use NFC.
However, this device is not suitable for everyday using because of its form factor, which is sadly the wow factor of the device.
Former Microsoft mobile user for about three years. Really enjoyed their Windows Mobile OS and the tiles. However, I personally won't buy a mobile or PC device made by them again. They have a history of coming out with good concepts, a little too late, and then dropping support when they don't sell. This device was overpriced from the beginning and targeted towards business customers. Since that market didn't bite, y'all get the leftovers.
I will say the best thing Microsoft has done in the mobile market since dropping Mobile OS, has been it's MS Launcher app for my android phone...and that's about it.

Have you tried Nova Launcher? That's where it's at.

I did a few years back l'll give Nova a try again. Once I found I could get rid of the Google search bar by using MS Launcher, I was content.
My preferred search engine is Ecosia, non-profit based in Germany. At least they plant trees with their profits, when one clicks their advertising link results.

This, I was on the verge of buying one until I saw that it uses the "selfie" camera as a main camera. This is simply unacceptable in 2021.... What a shame...
Why would you possibly charge over $1000 originally and not even include a decent camera. No wonder why it failed so miserably.
Got mine today from Daily Steals. Looks like the phone was sealed and possibly new. Updating the phone now so hopefully all goes well. So far I got to say that this thing looks pretty nice, but it's a pretty niche device as well.

I got one from MS at $649, I love it that I can run apps side by side and output to a monitor with a mouse and keyboard, just like a computer. A computer that can fit in my pocket. I notice when you run two apps that run GPS, THE DEVICE get so hot and drain the batteries. And when open two app with keyboard, the device get confused which apps will be use. Other than that, I can't imagine to go back single screen.

Online reviewers have said it was super buggy at first, but it's gotten much better with the latest software
