Probably true if you can find it in stock for the same price. Otherwise the comparison is the X2 at $250 more.

So I think the question here is for the discounted price is the Go Pro Fusion worth it?

IF they ironed out the horrendous software editing process that sunk this thing in the beginning. Even beefy machines choked trying to render a clip.

I totally agree. I however found the combination of software version and hardware that worked best for me. The rendering times are still very long but workable. I run a 1080ti OC 11g, i7 8700 and 32gb of RAM. i run the latest version of fusion studio beta which I believe is 1.4 and do my video editing within adobe premier. I have a hero9 and still use my fusion on occasion. I have the dual battery charger with extra batteries etc., so i am actually considering this as a second one but am on the edge of yes/no at the moment. The 360 absolutely has its place for use and i would hate to not have my fusion at all. Definitely a great deal for someone that doesn't already have one though.

Got this last year for $209 plus 2 extra batteries for free. Each battery lasts about 100 minutes when recording video, so battery life is easy to track when displayed by percentage.
Requires two SD cards, 1 per lens. I get 90 minutes of360 video on a pair of 64GB cards.
I chose this for its built-in waterproofing and voice activation. But, this thing runs hot and is bulky. And the horror stories about their software is true.

Is software still bad? WTF, fusion app page on gopro.com isn't even there lol I guess this is abandon-ware. Found, it's renamed but hasn't been updated since it's bad release in 2018...yikes!

I just want to shoot regular videos, is this possible and does this make it easier to edit with the software?

So, I have a Hero 9, 7, 5, and 4 already and getting ready for a trip. Where do you use this instead of your 9?

I was thinking about using it for some ATV/white water rafting shots, but the initial ones I saw don't see that impressive. Then again, I have not looked at the regular hero shots in the same scenario.

Based on this, I'd bite if it was $50

This is a "deal" that really isn't. This is a real POS product. HUGE files, long render times and the software is just crap. Plus it requires 2 microSD cards (each side operates as a separate camera and the software stitches the two files together into one huge file).

Insta360 is so much better at this market. It may cost a little more, but it works. The file sizes are smaller and the software works well - there's even a plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro.

I was a big GoPro fan (even had stock), they were great at bringing cool new action camera features to market. But once they started reaching for new markets in drone and 360 video, they seemed to lose perspective and were buried by better products made by better engineers. Their drone was a disaster - at launch they were two years behind competing products from DJI. They need to just sell off their tech to Apple and disappear.
