Most big name (Acer, Apple, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, ect..) budget pre-built computers like this come with propriety cases, PSU, and motherboards now a days. Everything else are standard size parts (CPU, drives, fans, graphics cards, RAM, ect..) and can be easily upgraded/replaced/swapped.

This Dell system would be a great fit, for home, office, students, coders, CAD, miners, video editors, graphic designers, and even casual gamers. Pretty much everyone except hardcore PC gamer enthusiast that like to build and maintain their own high-end $2000+ systems.

We have 3 of the G5 systems reviewed in that Gamers Nexus video. Ours have GTX1660 graphics cards, 10400F, 500w PS, 16GB ram, and a clean install of Windows 10. All are performing very well and we have not seen any heat or performance issues. My kids play the newest games on them daily (Doom Eternal, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Madden, HOI4, ect.) While simultaneously having YouTube open, a couple web pages, and messenger programs. I feel as though the build quality was quite good for the price I paid. I could not be more satisfied with our purchase.

If you are just an normal person (like 98% of the population) that wants to get a good deal on a good PC that will probably never be opened, and the only real maintenance you do is reinstall Windows ever couple of years to clean the system up. Then this system is perfect for you, and will serve you well for many years to come.

If you have a better deal on a pre-built system with similar or better specs available right now then post it.

Any way to add Windows 10 Pro?
I bought a discount key online. It was a little troublesome to get to work, but it eventually worked.

After all the discounts including $120 from Amex I got this for around $1K. Hopefully I'll get the SD cash back too but I never count on that until I actually see it.

I am also in the market to replace my machine, but it might be worth waiting until Windows 11 is out. I would expect that with people going back to work, that computer manufactures will need to decrease the price to help sell Windows 11 and keep revenue up since not everyone needs a new at home computer. So maybe near the end of the year or black friday may be better. Thoughts? I am similarly going through the AMD vs Intel debate. But i mostly do office, graphics, and video work. I do some occasional gaming, but have two xboxes if I do not want to use my computer for that. I also run a few vmware workstations, so memory is important.
I'd never wait to buy a computer based on a Windows release. Odds are they'll let you upgrade to 11 for free or a very minimal price.

Anyone know what the performance hit in gaming is for the 16 gm ram in 1 stick vs 2x8gb? Not really an enthusiast, but curious if the % difference is big enough to warrant buying my own set of 2x8gb and installing it on the XPS.

There's quite a few videos on youtube that compares the difference.

Mine shipped as well -- what is a typical eBay listing of the GPU as mine has to go as well to have the system make sense financially :-)
