"Magnesium is antagonistic to sodium, plus Vitamin D boosts calcium absorption, calcium is also antagonistic to sodium. Think of magnesium as the relaxing mineral and sodium as giving you energy. Fatigue after magnesium supplementation is usually a sign of low sodium."

Good price bad product.

Magnesium oxide is one of the worst forms of magnesium in terms of absorption. Calcium absorption also requires vitamin k and one other mineral to properly absorb into the bones or it will deposit into the soft tissues, i.e., heart. One of the best indicators of likelihood of a heart attack is the amount of calcium build up in the heart.

Why does any form of magnesium (other than in real food) cause me to be utterly exhausted for at least 24hrs after taking it?

Thanks! I've done a lot of research and can't find a whole lot that makes sense. I realize I'm asking for health advice on Slickdeals, but there's some pretty smart people here. LOL thanks again.

Magnesium is an amazing muscle relaxer. It helps me with occasional RLS and other issues that lead to overall crappy sleep. It is also a powerful laxative taken in high enough doses.

Same. My doctor recommended a take magnesium after I had bouts of RLS (except It was In my arms!) and it's helped calm it down.

Great price, but magnesium oxide is not very bioavailable. Most of it gets popped out. Check out magnesium citrate or magnesium malate.

Not a great price. Always available at this price at Vitacost and you don't even have to S&S.
Kroger has BOGO @ 6.25 each. You can mix and match with other vitamins.

I'd heard about needing K2, but what other mineral?
