This model was announced back in mid 2020 with Ryzen 4000H and RTX 2000 series but never got released. This is the 2021 iteration of that Laptop and similar to Asus Zephyrus G15 series which offers reasonable gaming performance while being relatively slim and lightweight compared to other gaming Laptops. However, this has 100W TGP for the RTX card. Also, comes with Nvidia Advanced Optimus which can allow the laptop display to be directly connected to the dedicated Nvidia Card. That's why the Laptop display has G-Sync, only possible if the display can be connected directly to Nvidia GPU.
I can't find many comparisons between slim 7 and regular 7. Looking for a light-moderate gaming duty, more content creation laptop. Watched reviews on other 15" laptops and really like what the 5 pro and 7 offer. Is it simply a diet version of 7?

Yes, it's a trimmed down version of Legion 7 for better portability. This is equivalent to Asus Zephyrus G15 lineup. There will be a 4K 600 nits panel model as well.

I've been eyeballing this for about 2 weeks now and just bought this for $1199 after 10% cashback sites and 5% off for senior discount and coupon code CLEAR15DEAL. There are hardly any reviews on youtube or any other place. Well, reviews that I know the language as this was released in the east a short while ago.
Subtotal $1537.49
-$235.12 CLEAR15DEAL-$82.5 Senior 5% discount
=$1332.37

** Easy to setup discount through ID Me . I am not a senior so I bought this for mom and used her info, my Credit card and 10% back makes this a stupid slick deal at $1199

I'm guessing G15 is better in this category?

I'm sure, I saw one at Walmart website sold by lenovo.com's official store.
Could be the legion slim 7i. Before I bought it, I did a lot of research for reviews and the best prices, I found very little info on both. It is a rather new release in the states, so there isn't much history or reviews yet. Lenovo does let the retailers in the US release certain products before they are even on Lenovo's own site.

That is Lenovo Slim 7i, the previous generation gaming Laptop with Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake and RTX 2000 series card. I think you got confused. This Laptop never went on sale in Walmart.
Use discover with PayPal to get extra 5% cash. twice the storage too when compared to BB at $1499. Awesome deal! Was initially going to get a customized one with 32gb ram and better 4k screen, but saw shipping will be in 4+ months. So I went this prebuilt. Thanks OP!
Can anyone comment on if this screen will get bright enough at just 300 nits ? Tempting at this price however I know there is a 4K 60 variant of this that supposedly gets to 500 nits that I would want to hold out for first...
