Correct - looking at the "Specs" tab, it comes with 1 filter.

Buying direct from costco is obviously a better deal (brand new, comes with that extra filter for 100), but this isn't too bad if you're unable to wait.

It can't do miracles. It's a small/medium fan connected to a hepa filter. It does what it can, you won't find another air purifier of this size (at any price level) that will be able to do much better. Maybe try replacing your carbon filter more often and manually setting it on high until you think your room is clearer.

Also it should be noted that while Costco has official filters on sale for $30 there are also generics on Amazon that are less.

lol why did this get a thumbs down? This is the actual answer. Zapping air naturally makes ozone, but it's like a super tiny bit, which is apparently enough for CA to ban on anything that generates ozone. I guess it's better to breathe wildfire air according to our CA overlords.

Source on that? Energy Star says this model emits 0 parts per billion of ozone.

You can buy this model direct from Winix and they will ship to California, there is probably a different reason that Woot won't ship this to California.

I got mine from this deal a few days ago, and it appears to have never been testing after being "refurbished." The motor appears to make an audible "clicking" noise that becomes extremely distracting on lower speeds. Yay to returns.

I have 2 other Winix and they are great machines and can get standard size filters but this one has irregular filters, i retunred it. this is a great price (i paid $130) but the filters suck.

I ordered two of these, the first one was all good, looked brand new, no smell.

The second one had a strong tobacco odor, burn mark on the top, and the filter light was on. I feel like they just dropped a return in the box with some new filters.

Went ahead and ordered two. Forest fire smoke is already traveling across the country and reaching the east coast. It's been quite hazy for the last two days.

For those worried about the ionizer (ozone), you can turn that feature off based on the manual.
