Got these for about $140 or $150 about 18 months ago IIRC. The headband feels cheap and plasticy, but…

Comfortable and good balanced sound. Can't go wrong at this price point.

Thank you. Bought mine three weeks ago for $150 and I'm going to try to get the difference refunded.

Update: Drop refunded me the price difference with an email request.

I have both and I would say the X2 are better for gaming/movies as they have more bass, soundstage is great, and you can slap a v-moda boompro mic and you're good to go.

The 58X are better for music imo as they are more detailed and have amazing mids, so it's preference, really. I always switch out between the 2 headphones.

How can I add a mic for this? If I want to use it with a console.

I got these and returned them. For the price I went with the 560s. I like those much better. At this sale price though these are definitely worth it.
i think that's what I'm getting next.

These or DT 990 Pro's?
I personally prefer Dt 990's over these.

Bought these a few years ago from Massdrop. Sound was decent, but clamping force/pressure was just too much for me, even after trying to reduce it by bending the headband. No matter what I did, these were just not comfortable for me.

I've had these for a couple years and also own the DT990 pros (250 ohm). Both awesome open headphones. Great for modding and gaming. Takes a while to break in hd58x head band. Painfully tight fit a bit. 990s have a bit more bass and better (much softer) ear pads. You can buy replacement pads but it certainly change the sound for the worse. 150 ohms are very efficient. An amp helps but not a necessity. Definitely need an amp for the 990s.

They are 150 ohm how do you not need a dac/amp for these???
Because they are very sensitive (sensitivity, or efficiency, is the amount of sound produced for a given electrical input). For some reason, everybody gets hung up on impedance. A lot of higher impedance headphones also have low sensitivity, so I think a lot of people just assume they go hand-in-hand, which is not always true.

I returned the 58x and kept the fidelios. It's personal preference but

1.) The fidelios have infinitely better build quality, Jubilees are predominantly plastic compared to the fidelios which have an entire metal frame, screws, and leather headband, larger earcups and I find circular replacement pads much more comfortable than oval. (I have put brainwavz Sheepskin on my Fidelios, talk about a good time on your ears)

2.) I prefer the sound of the Fidelios but this is largely personal preference. If you are a purist who loves unchanged sound, Sennheisers are probably going to be better. Me, I like punchy bass and bright sounds. I find sennheisers exhausting to listen to.

3.) The fidelios are much more comfortable

4.) For gaming, spatial awareness and footsteps etc on the fidelios are spot on. Badseed Tech agrees.

The best $500 or less audiophile and gaming headphones is going to be a DT880 Beyerdynamic 600 ohm version. But at $129 for the HD58x is a deal.

I'm the other way around. Been thinking about getting the 6XX for a while. I need to mix it up and get some closed back headphones for something different.
