I couldn't turn it on because it was locked with the last owner's password. Their technicians couldn't have turned it on either, so their thorough check was fraudulent.
85% capacity means absolutely nothing.
Thank you, Captain Obvious.

P/s: can you let us know how the return goes. Thinking to get one more if they allow return on subpar phones
Denied partial refund and they said I would have to pay return shipping. I'm thinking now that I'll request an exchange since it's still in stock. It might be in their best interest if SD users shed more favorable light on this "shady" trick. It's a deal so I'll probably try again if they go along with replacing the bad one. It's not so much about the money, it's the principle of the thing.
I'm familiar with this issue on a certain 2-door coupe…

I actually ordered the this WOOT with restock and then cancelled, I wanted wireless charging but the XL goes two days easily. The XL screen is just the right size. Unlimited phun with photos. Video didn't knock me out though.
It came with Android 9 so I unlocked the bootloader and flashed the July Android 11 factory image.
I don't think I'll bother to try to return it since Item Condition section listed "The device might show a light SHADE ON THE SCREEN, which will not impact the functionality of the device" and I'm sure I'd have to pay for return shipping anyway, etc.
I think it's worth it for $88 and will try to use it as-is and hope the banding on light backgrounds doesn't drive me crazy. Hah!

The phone was literally brand new/never used. The original buyer must have bought it, turned it on, noticed the vertical shading and returned it. The battery is new and there isn't one scratch anywhere, so I'm keeping it.

Same. Using dark mode 😁

And I don't know how people scratch up a phone like that. I usually get a case right away so let me know if you see a cheap gel case. I'll update the return process once I get the new one updated. And the DARK MODE does help a lot, preferable here anyway.
I'm using it with a VZW Tracfone sim for Safelink wireless and everything worked right away. I don't know how to test the battery but I expect two days and full charge like the last one.
I'll have to give Daily Steals support some credit for their prompt attention but the deal wasn't up to my expectations.
Also Google Fi keeps flaking on it and requiring a reboot.
Looking into a return now.

Not a question of if but when based on the huge number of Pixel owners affected across the board and Globally!

I am not technical but assuming it's a HD or software update issue, knowing the devastating effect that this has on customers -at least google could have tried to offer any upgrade with "FS" LOL :-) But no, the entire P3 customers base is being left behind w/o options -and that's why is such a disaster for the pixel brand and therefore GOOGLE!!!!
