Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box Black - $229.99

Philips Hue Play Sync Box available at Best Buy. This is the regular price, but it's been out of stock. Seems to come back into stock once a month or so.

The purpose of the sync box is to allow Philips Hue Play lights sync with your TV.
Things to note: *Must have Philips Hue Lights and the Bridge *Will not sync with built in streaming apps on a SmartTV, you would also need a fire stick, gaming console, or chrome cast (something that plugs into the hdmi) to play the apps to have it sync

I am still hoping to get a flush wall mounted LG G1 this year, so am tracking but holding off the purchase of Hue Play for ambient lighting. Behind-TV ambient lighting might not work with Gallery mode TVs that are flush mounted to the wall.

However, I came across BB listing, still in stock, with free shipping and perhaps it will be useful for someone now:

New, for $229

Should work. I have the gradient strip behind my no-gap wall mount for my Samsung tv. Sure there's a small gap now but it works

Thank you for the feedback! I hope it will. I also plan to go with the gradient strip. A bit surprised that the longest one would not go under the TV as well (only sides and top). I might still need to wait for that G1 to drop, persuade my SO that it is of critical importance to replace our older OLED and buy a 77 gallery TV, and then I will jump on this Hue Play.

Yeah that's disappointing to me too. I came from the dreamscreen so I was used to full ambient light. I do like the gradient strip syncs with HomeKit and what not tho.

Philips is significantly more expensive but uses state of the art technology to sync to the tv. I believe the knock off on Amazon uses a camera to read the colors of the TV. Philips reads the color through the HDMI input.
