I just don't get it. I've used a lot of pens and don't get the price of these. I've used 5-10 dollar pens that write just as nice

I went with a friend to a jewelry store when he was looking at engagement rings. One of the salesmen could tell I was bored and let me try one of their expensive pens. I was actually really impressed by how nice it felt and how smooth it glided across the paper as I wrote. He asked me to guess how much that pen cost and my jaw hit the floor when he revealed it cost $600. I carefully handed it back to him and explained that despite how impressed I was, I think I'd have to stick with my 0.99 cent Bic pens. These maybe out of my budget, but I could definitely tell the difference between a pen like this and the $5 pens at Staples.

Have you ever tried a Fisher Space Pen?

There's a certain luxury in using a pen that just works when you pick it up at any angle, when left in a car, and apparently even in Space.

You can see some models made at the factory on YouTube. I have this pen and a couple other Mont Blanc models. Are they worth it? Yes, but only because I appreciate that they weren't just rolled off an assembly line. Not 100% handmade, but definitely people-centric. I look at this this way - if I made them I'd want them priced over $10 and as much as the buying market would bear. For it to be on SD at all is a surprise.

I see the poors are back to giving input on things they don't understand.

Agreed; awesome price. I have the Starwalker fineliner and love it. Was a gift many years ago, was $400+ at the time (think it still is). This is a bargain for someone who wants one of these.

It's just a status symbol. I'll tell you a funny story. I arrived at the office of my internship but I forgot to bring a pen so the secretary directed me to a cup full of crap pens that were collected over the years there was one pen looked like a Mont Blanc it never entered my mind that it would be real especially because it was stamped by a company called "pix" on the back of the clip. So I did some research about the "pix" stamp and confirmed later with a dealer that I was in possession of the real deal.

I'm aware of them, but have never tried one before. I always seem to misplace pens so that's why I stick to cheap ones.

I don't think you misplace them, I think people walk off with them.
