$194 was the lowest price ever for this (IIRC), but that was back before RP added 3GB to the old 5GB plan to create this one.

Best price for this newer 8GB plan was ~$204; could be coming around again in a month or so, certainly for BF. Maybe lower, even.

Also, just saw first ever RP TV commercial, could be going world-class (or at least trying to).

.
Go with Mint which uses T-Mobile towers. If you buy the annual plan, it'll cost you $15/month for 4GB, unlimited text and talk. I would go with Mint anytime (unless you have issues with T-Mobile coverage in your area).
How do you do that?

Thanks OP. I've had Red Pocket for a year now (AT&T, T Mobile coverage is terrible in my area) and I've had zero problems. The 10GB monthly plan is now $32.71 with the new fees, so this is a great deal.
This competes with the att $300 a year plan with the caveats that there is no mexico/Canada roaming and there is no rollover. I can get this for $275 with target games but if eBay won't give taxes back now this is only $30-35 less than att native so not really a good deal if you like the additional perks and the purportedly higher priority att native service is than mvno. I say maybe but I can say my att prepaid is just as fast as my att postpaid all the time.

Also, don't forget to get your sales tax refunded from eBay.
Please elaborate, how did you go about doing so and what did you tell them specifically?

I have to switch my yahoo mobile within a few days... but looking more for something that is unlimited calls and texts, BUT not unlimited data... because I would be fine probably with just 1gb or maybe even less and want to save some money, so trying to figure out the cheapest reliable company and plan without unlimited data (but some data included).
There is a redpocket 3gb deal. It depends highly on your preferred mobile operator. Tmobile mint, redpocket att, and usmobile has great Verizon pooled plans which you can do variable gb but know that Verizon mvno (visible included) can be horribly slow.

So of you cant get cell coverage cheap is sorta useless.

just an FYI check out Us mobile they have a lot of different plans I have been with them for a couple of weeks so far so good very reasonable price
I had them for a couple of months, but just switched to att prepaid. Us mobile published prices do not include fees, and there is extra for hotspot or 5g. If you get their $15 plan, it is really 19.90 with fees/taxes. It would be 24.90 if you want to use hotspot. Network seems to be heavily deprioritized as well. I was using an Android (pixel 4).

Too early to comment on att prepaid, but so far so good in the one week I've had it.

Theres a special for the NEW customers ...what is the actual price after that ???
If you live in a state that charges sales tax, ebay will tax this transaction even though they arent supposed to...because all taxes and fees are supposed to be included in this plan. Last year when I ordered these, I just used a fake address in a state without sales tax. Red pocket sends you the code via ebay message anyway - and the only thing they actually mail you is a postcard with nothing on it. (Note that this only works for renewals if you already have a RP sim, if you dont, you'd need to use a real address to get that sim)

yeah wondering about best coverage myself. I wonder if there's a website to make it easier to get an idea of the ebst coverage in a particular area. I sued to have verizon here and it did pretty good. I think tmobile and at&t are more iffy/spotty. so far thinking about tello, boost, xfinity. MAYBE mint, but it's a tad more for same usage.

Btw, I haven't really sued cells much at all for years and years and I didn't even know that many companies wont even let you stream hd video. wtf? If you are paying for x data per month you should be able to sue it however you want.

I have had red pocket for several years and although it states unlimited data, it is limited. You get 2gb of high speed and then it slows down so much that it's almost like not having any data.

Does Red Pocket still mail out the renewal code physically or is it e-mail? My Mint is expiring and I'd like to go back.

I still have the old SIM I was using, do I need to get a new one?

How does this work if you already have RP? Just put the code in somewhere? (I don't personally have the service but my sister is on it).
Don't add it until the last day of her current plan. It will not add to her existing plan, it will replace it. So if you have a lot of time left on your current plan it will just disappear when this is added.

I forgot to renew my plan on time, and it expired. RedPocket CS service added two day grace period, very awesome customer service. I have been a customer of them for past 4 years.

This appears to have regulatory, recovery and other fees included whereas Mint charges those separately
