I think in the past these have been clearance as low as 40-50. Still have a few from a year or two ago Big Grin

This is the lowest price I've seen for the 16". The 12", 13", & 15" have been on sale before for very low prices. However, this 16" is the only one I would even consider buying (universal attachment capable, more torque, larger battery capacity, better balance/motor placement (motor located on the handle side rather than at the cutting side)).
I've been watching the price of it for the past few months and it finally went on sale today.

yes it has, Im waiting for another clearance sale for trimmers. Looking to replace a $20 B&D 12v that is about 10 years old. Would prefer a dewalt 20v trimmer since I have dewalt tools but this kobalt could work. I have another 40v battery from the jeep power wheel

Again, you're confusing this with the crappy 13" string trimmer (just search SD for Kobalt 40v string trimmer, you won't find the 16" for less than $150). I feel like $50 would be a bit much to pay for that particular string trimmer (except that it does include a 2.5Ah battery and charger…).
