About this deal:
This deal, 3-Pack of 2-Lb Sugar River By Jack Link's Beef Sticks (original beef), is rarely posted on Slickdeals as it is rarely discounted. My Price research indicates that this deal is $38.97 lower (52% savings) than the list price and $14.97 lower (29.4% savings) than the next best deal from a reputable merchant at the time of posting.
These things sucks. I bought the same 2-lb pack at Grocery Outlet for around $11 or $12, they are so oily. I literally had to cover them in paper towels and wring the oil out. They are not anywhere close to Jack Links quality.
Yes, very oily. I put a handful on a paper towel in the microwave for 15 seconds or so to get the oil out. Ok tasting, but prefer jerky.
Just a quick Google search on these shows they can be bought at plenty of places for less. Less than $10 per 2 lb is not hard to find although I've yet to see free shipping yet. Not putting the OP down, just saying.
Per serving calories 150 from fat 120
Made of Beef, mechanically separated chicken, water, salt,
corn syrup(sugar). Just saying...
Wasn't aware of that, but unknowingly might have something to do with why I came to the above conclusion that it "... crosses my threshold from passable beef snack in their jerky, to what I consider beef food-product in these sticks."
It's more like a slim Jim. If I recall I had bought a pack either from gander mountain or sportsmen guide. Don't have the fondest of memories., but the flavor isn't as good as a slim Jim.
however for survival food if Is perfect. the calories are mostly from fat (9 cal agram) remainder is mostly protein,. and a touch of carbs. even peanut butter isnt as calorie dense.
I guess for the price they must be- at $0.38/oz, these are more than $0.10 cheaper per oz. than member's mark house brand beef sticks... for DOGS! Idk if I'd want my dog eating too many of these either though.
I've had these. They're really really greasy and then the grease turns orange a day later. They're also on the mushier side. I've gotten them at Ollie's Bargain Outlet for 2.99. Same pkg.
