I disagree. Between three people we find this jug is adequate, assuming it stays full and you fill it every time you use it. Filled to the max (jug and reservoir) this can hold nearly 80 ounces (just checked). There's very few times I have to wait for it to filter, but having the smaller jug means we can easily put in a fridge if need be. Takes up less counter space too. And you can pass it around.
Also small enough to take with you when you're traveling, helps cut down on buying bottled water
That's about the least embarrassing thing that I could be doing. That being said, I just drink regular old city tap water. No need for further filtration IMO.
I just started researching and learning on this. Is TDS in 300 range bad? I found the link below and it says that was in the ideal range.

https://www.freshwatersystems.com...measure-it

TDS Water Chart
<50-250 ppm Low: Lacking minerals, such as calcium, magnesium, and zinc.
300-500 ppm Ideal: This level is the sweet spot for TDS in drinking water. The water most likely contains minerals and does not taste flat.
600-900 ppm Not great: Consider a reverse osmosis system to filter TDS.
1000-2000 ppm Bad: It is not recommended to drink water at this TDS level.
>2000 Unacceptable: A TDS level above 2000 ppm is unsafe and household filters can not properly filter this level of contamination.

I went from the gallon pitcher to the 2 gallon rectangle one and it's better in every way. Dispenser vs pour so you can get water while water is filtering.

I'm actually going to grab this for my garage fridge to refill with my hose but for significant usage get the big rectangle bad-boy.

About small footprint on a counter or fridge, I wholeheartedly agree, but in terms having three people use it? Sorry, but that's a big 'nope'. I use this size (my GF has the 'large' Brita, and am not a huge still water drinker, but constantly find myself having to refill when it feels inconvenient. As someone who's likes my water cold, while it's not a killer, you're not getting much water before filling up. Two pint glasses and it's time to refill. It works for many individuals, but if you're a heavy water drinker or 2 or more people, this filter cannot be recommended.

I have a small one in one fridge and the biggest one in another and I like them both. I use the small one for a Nalgene bottle I have and the big one is for everyone else. What I have noticed with the big one is that almost no one ever fills it all the way because it gets very heavy, especially for children and older people.

I've got the 10 cup pitcher that's sold at Costco. When I fill it to the top it takes about 7 minutes to filter through and I get 5 cups of water.
I pre-filter 2 gallons at time, so I don't have to wait around when I do need the water and also to more accurately track how many gallons I've filtered.

I average about 40 gallons every 2 months which is a perfect interval for how often I change out the filter and matches the Brita recommendations. YMMV based on your local water quality.
A pack of 10 filters are only $20 at Costco right now, so for $12 a year, I'm good.

You do not have to buy this pitcher, the $4 off should work on just a multi pack of filters too.

Brita filters suck, been using a huge family sized one that slides into the refrigerator after you fill it up. Multiple times I seen the filter float out, there is also no seal between the filter and the water. Brita engineers must be morons not to have figured out how to easily create a quick locking grove in the filter and the dispenser. Without that quick lock the water unflitered and filtered all go into the same place, since its so easy for the unfiltered to leech down.

Switch to Zero pitchers, after the last filter gets used up on my Brita I am switching. I believe their whole filter is integrated and securely locked in place to prevent clean and filtered water from mixing unlike Brita. Making it way way better, also looking at their advertisements they have better filters.

The Costco larger size is a few bucks more and comes with 2 filters. I believe I paid $18 in store. It is Kirkland brand but accepts basic Brita filter. Better yet, use the Kirkland filters for more savings.

I often see discrepancies between Target's online and in-store prices. I just show the checkout person the online price and they pricematch.

I'm the only person that uses it and refill it once until the next morning. I get about 90 plus ounces to fill my water jug which is more than enough water to drink each day. Much easier than having to buy bottled water or my slow main fridge water dispenser. Only issue is it takes up a bit of space in my mini fridge since I read to prevent mold that you should keep this always refrigerated

I bought this over a year ago and I am finding that I am constantly refilling it just for myself and I live with two other people.

Costco has their Kirkland brand water pitcher and two filters for 17.99 in warehouse. (for those that have a Costco membership) I haven't found much of a difference in taste or quality between Brita and Kirkland brand filters.

I've used Brita and find it to be too much hassle for not that great of a water.

Bought this under the sink filter a while back and it's the best thing ever for tasty fresh filtered water:

Made in the USA 🇺🇸 too.

5-cups is way too small and I have to waddle my fat ass into the store? No thanks!
