Right A10x processor. This will be more than enough for most people. Have one at home, love it. Considering getting this also.

Unless you have one of the TVs that support PS5 or XSX fully, VRR, 12 bit HDR and ALL, the older model should be all you need.

If you own HomePods, you have to get the new version of the AppleTV with the A12 chip!

The A10X version of the AppleTV allows you to play sound through your HomePods only if it originates from your AppleTV. You cannot, for example, use the HomePods to play sound from live-TV.

The latest AppleTV allows you to take advantage of the ARC feature on the HDMI port to play sound originating from you TV (or Blu-ray player connected to your TV) through your HomePods.

This greatly increases the utility of the HomePods, transforming them from 'AppleTV speakers' into genuine home theater speakers. And, don't forget, they are Atoms-Capable, so all your blu-ray/4K discs will sound great too.

Yeah, Apple should have done a better job of explaining this feature. Perhaps, they can enable this function on the older model through a firmware update. After all, plain old HDMI 2.0 can do ARC just fine. You don't need hdmi 2.1 for that.

My setup will have an OLED TV with an AppleTV hidden behind it, and two HomePods in a stereo set up. Instant home theater- no wires, no amp/receiver, no mess - just a clean setup with great sound.
