You don't have to wear it daily. I mean, unless you really prefer a phone on your wrist. I'm into tech, and I'm a watch maker. I have no interest in a smartwatch. 🤷🏻
Wear both foolio, the lord didn't give you two wrists just to wear one watch
The Seiko 5 Sport watch line is a great watch as knock around daily wearers, and a great launching point for those just starting into the world of automatic watches. The movement beats a little slower than higher end Swiss movements (ETA and Sellita) but is still durable…

If you want crazy value in an automatic watch from a Japanese brand, check out Orient. They will still sell you a great looking Rolex Submariner-inspired 200M dive watch for $200 or less and their automatic Bambinos are just a hair over $100. Same parent company as Seiko and they have somewhat stepped into the affordable price range that Seiko is vacating.
Both my Rays have been great. I like the quarter hour indices better than the Seiko:
Best automatic watch on the face of the earth. I own a lot of pricier ones but the Seiko's just keep going with no maintenance. If fact they cost 1/4 of what a watch cleaning on a pricey watch costs.
I don't understand. Why would service being cheap mean this the best automatic on the planet? It's not very accurate either. And I can get the time on my phone, so I don't need a watch at all. So why would a cheap watch be the best in the world when I don't need one to begin with? It just makes very little sense to me. If your trying to be cheap, you don't need one. If you want a watch, your trying to get one that speaks to you. I'm not looking for the one that says "buy me, I'm the cheapest".

It doesn't need service, that's the point. You absolutely don't need a watch either. Much like you don't need a car. Frankly the real needs are food, shelter and maybe clothing. My point is if you want an Automatic (ie self winding) watch, there is no better one than a Seiko from a reliability and durability standpoint. It will work for 20-30 years and need absolutely nothing.
