Fyi, $169 price is the lowest per ccc, BestBuy also lowered the price to $169.99
Save $30
Was $199.99
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/arri...Id=6425831

Recently, another post in slickdeals for $179 got +8 deal score / thumbs up, somehow someone put a -1 on my post, wondering why. Lowest price was frontpage for a $149 lighting deal at Amazon.

I wonder if that will stack with the 15% off when you trade in a modem and buy a modem deal that Best Buy is running

$149 prime day. I guess cause it was recently $20 cheaper? Doesn't seem like these surfboards go on sale as much as their Motorola counterparts.

I've been running one with zero downtime and consistently great speeds for 6 months now. Highly recommend this.

Seems like a decent price, but how would you compare this to the SB8200 [amazon.com] (currently $149 and also DOCSIS 3.1 32x8)?

I know not for my current speed, but I've been waiting to get any 3.1 modem and upgrade the speed I can get, but you know...covid and limited funds.

I have an older SB model that is working well. I don't really like the look of the round device and think it might get warm in the area I keep the modems (a mostly enclosed cabinet unit with just a USB fan moving air most of the time). I have been able to avoid heat issues with current modem and routers, but some routers have been hotter than others.

So just wondered if really worth it for the S33 or for $20 less to get the SB8200.

Thanks OP for posting! Thanks for any feedback others can offer.

Based on specs listed online,
S33
Has 2 ports
2.5 Gbps on 1 port
1 Gbps on 1 port

SB8200
Has 2 ports
1 Gbps on 1 port
1 Gbps on 1 port

Also, other S33 users have posted screenshots with speeds up to 1.4Gbps, it doesn't have the puma chip which is the one to avoid due to multiple issues.. Based on reviews from other users online the Arris / Motorola s33 has the best specs and at this moment appears to be the best cable modem available / future proof for some years.

It's another $20 off to buy used with Warehouse. Says it has a cosmetic defect, but whatever. I've twice bought used modems from Warehouse and they've worked fine and actually been cosmetically immaculate.

But with only a 2.5Gbps port how future proof will it be? Serious question.
Anyone getting 2.5Gbps speed, I envy you.

Seeing how this and the motorolla MB8611 are equivalents wouldn't you just buy it from staples for the same price and apply a coupon on top?

@Staples 169.99:
https://www.staples.com/motorola-...t_24484449

Staples 25 off 150 coupon that works for this modem, code is 97085
https://slickdeals.net/f/15171115-staples-coupon-for-online-orders-exclusions-apply-20-off-100-and-25-off-150-stackable-exclusions-apply

I've seen it lower and got it myself for 129.99 but this is pretty close

so based on arris's specs on its site, the s33 adds a 2.5g port and fancy new clothes.

for those that have a sb8200, i would say wait for docsis 3.2/4 unless you have to have higher than a 1 gig connection.
