Bought one a couple weeks ago when it was 140. I challenge anyone to find a phone of this quality for this price brand new. One of the commenters said it was slow. I disagree, it's running Android 11, and doesn't seem to be any slower than my Galaxy S10. For the person wanting to get back into Android phones, this is the perfect opportunity to get a flagship from a couple generations ago for cheap. Bummer that there is no headphone jack, and the top and bottom bezel are larger than the newer model phones, but that leaves good amount of space for the stereo speakers on top and bottom, they are better than any other phone I've ever had. Again, I want to point out that this is running Android 11, and even though it is not being updated any further, it's amazing to get Android 11 for this price.

I have a Motorola Moto G Power I have never really liked. I use Google Fi. Would this phone be an upgrade even though it's older?

fyi - Google stopped issuing bug fixes and security patches for this phone in October 2020.
And this is the reason to pass on this deal.

This is as good as a Moto G7. For the price yeah it's worth it, but 4gb on Android 11 is not great.

Yeah IMHO I think it's better. Better camera, unlimited photo backup, AMOLED screen, faster CPU, ip rated water resistance.

So the Woot deal from 2 weeks ago is back except now they're saying "brand new". Last time, they were advertising these as reconditioned, but when I got mine it was brand new and the battery health was at 100%.
It pays to hold out I guess

I'm considering this for my father. He's currently using a Samsung galaxy mega which won't work on At&T starting next year. Obviously he doesn't care about speed or the latest OS so it should be fine.

I still have this phone from when I bought it almost 4 years ago. It is easily the best smartphone I have ever purchased and likely will ever purchase. Honestly despite it being a few generations old it is still an amazing device. A few notable issues that I have had over the years though.
  • Power button is finicky
  • Depth sensor on the front of the phone cuts in and out leading to awkward issues where you cant end a call.
  • Speaker audio is subpar
  • No longer receives updates

I loved my Pixel 2 when it came out - the night sight camera was great, and Google Assistant finally became something useful (much moreso than Siri).

But…it's five years old. Not a horrible choice if you really need a new phone and you're running on empty, but go in with modest expectations.
To bad it is five years old and can't make calls or text anymore.

What are people doing with these things? How much multitasking can one really do to make the specs "slow"?

I surf, text, check my bank, text, surf, make a call, text, hook up to Android auto, listen to some Spotify, text, surf, text, and play some solitaire, then I hook up to charge and go to sleep.

wake at 6a. rinse repeat.

I'm in the same situation as you (except I recently ditched Fi for Mint. Mint is so much better but I digress) and just yesterday pulled the trigger on the pixel 3 64gb also on woot. For 50 schmeckls more it seemed worth it to me for the better processor and wireless charging. But if you have loads of music it might not make sense for you.

Had this phone for 3 years and traded it for 4a5g with Google last November. It was good for 3;years but was becoming slow after that. I won't recommend this old phone if you install and use lot of apps/browsing. For light use this is great phone. I got trade in for $235 from Google. I would have used it for another year if the trade-in value was not great.

This phone can do all of that - ONE AT A TIME. I'm using even older phones. Never miss a beat. Only I don't do financial transactions on old phones due to no security updates.
