Bought one a couple weeks ago when it was 140. I challenge anyone to find a phone of this quality for this price brand new. One of the commenters said it was slow. I disagree, it's running Android 11, and doesn't seem to be any slower than my Galaxy S10. For the person wanting to get back into Android phones, this is the perfect opportunity to get a flagship from a couple generations ago for cheap. Bummer that there is no headphone jack, and the top and bottom bezel are larger than the newer model phones, but that leaves good amount of space for the stereo speakers on top and bottom, they are better than any other phone I've ever had. Again, I want to point out that this is running Android 11, and even though it is not being updated any further, it's amazing to get Android 11 for this price.
Youre gonna be downgrading if you're swapping to this

I just search it, and seems all are 2 year warranty.

For Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
All Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL phones sold in the US and Canada come with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty to cover device malfunctions that occur through no fault of the owner.

If your device malfunctions in the first 2 years after you bought it, contact Google.
If it malfunctions after the 2-year manufacturer's warranty but within 30 months of when you bought the device, visit mydeviceprotect.com or call Assurant at 877-406-4372.
If you don't know how long it's been since you bought your device, check your order history on the Google Store or the store where you bought your phone.

Not sure what woot sold will be, but I believe it should also be 2 years if it is new.

If you are talking about the $90 Scratch & Dent Pixel 3 deal, then it's a tough call. The Pixel 3 still gets updates until October, including the next official Android update directly from Google, but it's really a dice-roll on the condition (internally and externally) of the pre-owned Pixel 3. I personally don't want to deal with Daily Steals (some recent deals), but since it's Woot as the seller that's better IMHO (owned by Amazon) and possibly worth the risk.

I'd personally probably go for the 2 XL with the bigger battery and full-year warranty OEM warranty (at least it claims) since I expect the SD 835 vs 845 CPU differences will not be that noticeable (maybe if you were gaming or something). I also don't think Google frequently updated their camera hardware, so unless they hold back software features from older models (#Apple) then the cameras should be comparable as well with Night Sight, etc. Besides the Pixel 3's refurb state, it's mostly personal preference IMHO.

Articles like this are also helpful, though some of that sentiment may be due to sales numbers more than the phone itself:
https://www.droid-life.com/2020/1...ime-right/

And yes, either model will support CDMA or GSM. I'm on Tello's GSM now. I wouldn't worry about compatibility with the Pixel. You'll need a new Tello (GSM/T-Mobile) sim card when you switch.
Thank you for the info! Smilie

Thanks OP. This is a significant upgrade from my Moto G7 Power:

- Better screen & glass
- Better CPU/GPU
- Thinner and lighter
- Way more on board storage
- Better camera
- Unlimited photo support
- Good stock android support with latest Android OS
- USB-3.1 vs. 2.0
- better water resistance

The only negative is the battery life and no fast charging. Since this is a brand new phone I'll deal.

If these were sitting in a warehouse for years, the battery life won't be as good as if they were bought when they were manufactured.

Thinking about getting this and flashing a custom rom. Does anyone know if you lose GPay running custom roms?

real reason: to allow better waterproofing
True story I once got in the pool for 30 mins with my infant son with my pixel 2 fully submerged in my swimming trunks pocket about 3 years ago not realizing it the entire time... Got out and realized it was there. Had a panic attack thinking I just lost my phone. Turns out it was completely fine. No water under screen never even needed to sit it in rice. Dried it off with towel and it was completely unaffected. I'm still on that same phone as we speak. Thousands of drops too, screen never cracked. As far as I understand it the pixel 5 kinda sucked but the 6 is turning some heads with specs and positive reviews. I may be upgrading when it's out

I just went the other way. Testing out an Xr (TW deal) with my daily driver being a 4a 5G.

Things I miss already that the Pixel 2 XL has:
Amoled screen
Unlimited google photo backup
Customizable Home Screen
Battery percentage in notification bar
Immediate unlock with fp reader
Double click home button to quick open camera
Hold power button for Google home quick settings

Things I'm liking:
iPhone feels faster, slightly, but maybe it's the newness
Mute switch
Build quality
Integration with AirPod pros

Still getting used to it. Kinda a pain to set it all up, but also like tinkering. If you get this one, you could probably add lineage or other rom to get the newer features. I assume there would be equivalent complaints you'd have depending how far in the ecosystem you are of either.
You can get everything you had on your Pixel in addition to build quality, speed, and mute switch on a OnePlus. Still base Android. The 7T thru newest 9 also add on 65W warp charge compared to whatever Apple is using, I believe around 20W.

Can the squeeze feature be customized to launch any app/action like HTC phones? I read that it's not possible but there was a workaround with another app, but that was a while back. Things may have changed with Android updates.

Order was on 7/20 (Ordered right before midnight on 7/19 & order confirmation came 7/20).

UPS Out for delivery today 7/24 by 7PM.

Their estimate was for 7/28 - 8/1 so I was also worried they would take the "10 business days" but I guess at least in my case they are underpromising / overdelivering.

edit: my phone arrived 30 seconds after i hit the post button Smilie

Best of luck if you ordered one.
