Bought one a couple weeks ago when it was 140. I challenge anyone to find a phone of this quality for this price brand new. One of the commenters said it was slow. I disagree, it's running Android 11, and doesn't seem to be any slower than my Galaxy S10. For the person wanting to get back into Android phones, this is the perfect opportunity to get a flagship from a couple generations ago for cheap. Bummer that there is no headphone jack, and the top and bottom bezel are larger than the newer model phones, but that leaves good amount of space for the stereo speakers on top and bottom, they are better than any other phone I've ever had. Again, I want to point out that this is running Android 11, and even though it is not being updated any further, it's amazing to get Android 11 for this price.
Youre gonna be downgrading if you're swapping to this

You got lucky I guess with the shipping. I ordered on 19th and mine hasnt even been shipped yet. Still says preparing for shipping. If I may ask which one did you order, the black or the black and white?
I got the just black. No problem unlocking the bootloader and installing lineage unless you count my ignorance of not properly installing TWRP. I hope you got your phone by now.

It looks like I just wasted $50 in this woot deal... lol. I wonder what their return policy is or if they will price match the Mint Mobile deal?

Oh I get it. I'm also on a 2019 OnePlus 7T from the B&H november deal. Fantastic phone as well, but @ $330. I'd love to be able to alternate the Pixel 2xl and the 7t every day to get an idea of the real world differences.

I'm about to go full overboard with LinageOS on the 7T, no Google. I've already dropped using the google apps in place of open source alternatives.

Oh, and my wife says she doesn't believe me when I say I forgot to put my mute switch from ring to silent Frown(
Haha, I do the same with the mute. I wasn't thrilled with the button at first but find myself using it all the time now. Gonna have to upgrade to 8T myself likely soon because AT&T won't accept B&H deal one on their network after 3G ends.

I got one of these and it upgrade to Android 10 then 11 right away. Then it would not stop rebooting. Factory reset it and that stopped but I think it'll happen again when it tries to upgrade to Android 11 again. I've read about this very problem after searching. What should I do? Return and buy from Mint for $100, free shipping?

I ordered a pixel from this thread (should arrive in a few days) but might also be interested in a LG V40... assuming they are brand new and in the same price range. Do you have a sales link you can share?
The lg v40 was on dailysteals website, it's a refurbished unit for $131. I went with the google pixel 2xl instead since it has great reviews and is new in condition.

If you're concerned about privacy and security you should use a dumb phone from 20 years ago.
This won't be an option for people soon. Old phones will no longer work in the near future. Only VoLTE will be supported, no more GSM. You can't even activate new service with 3G phones, but existing accounts are grandfathered until they shut it down. There are no non-Google non-Apple phones that support VoLTE.

Carriers can also easily kill custom ROMs by messing with VoLTE support. I could be wrong, but I don't see a future for Lineage and other ROMs and Linux phones with carriers controlling VoLTE, white listing phones and software. And with Google currently developing its own operating system (won't be Android anymore in the future), it's going to be difficult to "de-google" it.

So what does the future look like? A walled garden of Apple or Google products and services. Sad but not surprising since modern society apparently doesn't give a sht about freedom, privacy and security and happily add alexa's throughout the house. Meanwhile, Pixels are great for people that don't want iphones, at least doesn't have your carrier's and other manufacturer's bloatware, one less entity to worry about.

I think almost everyone experienced this reboot loop after upgrading to 11. Happened to mine too, factory reset it, and never happened again. I guess this is the reason the phone is discounted so much, Google couldn't patch it without a hard reset, who knows. I couldn't find anything else wrong with it.

I've read in a previous thread about updating Play Store and all apps before doing a system update to avoid the issue you've mentioned.

Has anybody tried the Pixel 2 XL on T Mobile's compatibility checker -

https://www.t-mobile.com/resource...I&referrer

To see if it will work on T Mobile after they drop CDMA in 2022 and go to LTE / VoLTE only devices?
