Look, I have no idea if this is a good deal or not. I just signed up for Audible and haven't even used any of my credits yet.

Just saw this. Can I return purchases made 2 days ago (not yet listened) and a pre-order that's been sitting for a while, then repurchase to count toward this?
UPDATE:
I made the returns (3 books) and canceled the pre-order, then resubmitted the pre-order and repurchased the books, along with 2 others. It does appear that I can no longer return books online, though I've read that this restriction typically lifts itself in a number of months and that you can still do a return via chat or phone if you're willing to explain why. Here's hoping I get the coupon. Either way, I got the books I wanted, and a couple more that looked good, so worst case I burned a few credits that I needed to use anyway.

In case the OP wasn't clear (it wasn't to me), here's the terms:
"Eligible members who use 2-3 credits during the promotional period, will receive a promotional code for a $5 USD Audible coupon via email; those who use 4-5 credits will receive a $10 USD Audible coupon; and those who use 6 or more credits within the promotional period will receive a $20 USD Audible coupon."

Further clarification from the terms, only purchases made from 7/19-7/22 will count for this.
I paid $10/credit which wasn't that great of a deal. 2 for 1 books seems like better deal if i can find the books i want
If someone is likely to purchase books anyway w credits, then this is a decent deal. Why not get the coupon also?
Not a good deal to spend credits just to get a coupon, unless you already are willing to buy the books.
Re "2 books for one credit" offers: yes, those are better deals within their limitations; that those offers are sporadic and intermittent, and usually limited to a choices made from a smallish selection of possible titles
(I think these 2books-for-1credit sales usually offer about 200-500 total titles from among which to choose, and those books in the sale offer may not include the books you want.)
So both sorts of offers have their uses.
The current coupon offer appears to apply to the entire audible catalog, instead of just to a sharply limited corral of titles from among which to choose.
---
note:. anyone who wants to purchase books and get the coupon, and who might be short of credits: you may see an offer to buy more credits on the audible page or within the app.
if you don't see this offer, call audible. they are usually happy to see you more credits at whatever price you usually pay.
they have good phone CS.

obviously, don't buy books just to get the coupon. this is only a good deal if you wanted various individual books badly enough that you were likely to purchase them anyway.
A) I think you're missing the proper forum and B) It's not trading the credits for coupons. Per the T&C on the bottom of the page you linked, it seems if you use those credits (say as you normally would), you would get the $5, $10 or $20 coupon depending on how many credits you used.

I thought deal talk was for discussion.. but yea, I think B) clears that right up. Every bit that I've read sounded like a straight trade. I've got 10 banked now that I should burn before the promo ends then. Thanks

Use 2 credits for a $5 coupon,
4 credits for a $10 coupon,
6 or more credits for a $20 coupon.
so convert $30 worth of credits into $5?? this sounds like a straight up scam.. why the hell would you trade away full value for a fractional coupon??
1 credit = $30 book.. or 1 credit = $2.50 coupon off $30 book.... please tell me I'm misunderstanding this, and audible doesn't think we're brain dead morons.
