Is the special paper erasable/re-usable?

18 pages would last my kids about 1 hour.

In my experience, no. We go through these pages like water, but they do love them. And I love not having to watch them like a hawk with the mess free markers.

Wouldn't the water wow books by Melissa and Doug be better given they're reusable? They usually cost 5$ a book, currently a set of 6 is on sale for 27$ on Amazon. Example - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009B7F...Q9M6AP2PZZ

I have also bought similar books from dollar store and the overall value as compared to M&D was much better, surprisingly.
