You're right. It's HDMI 2.2.

HDMI 2.2 doesn't exist. You're thinking HDCP 2.2 which is a content protection standard.

Anybody thinking 4K would work better on 32 inch and higher monitors? I think 2K on 27 inch is perfect...

This is still within a useable margin, but different people like different things. 32" is too large for some, others get 1440P 32" screens. Apple notoriously overshoots pixels per inch with their "retina" displays for a pixel free experience. Distance from the screen also plays a part.

Here are some PPI Examples:
  • 75" 4k: 59 PPI
  • 48" 4k: 92 PPI
  • 27" 4k: 163 PPI
  • 32" 4k: 138 PPI
  • 13" Macbook Pro: 227 PPI
  • 6.1" iPhone 12: 457 PPI

I've been pricing this monitor now and then. I've seen it around 1400 or 1500 bucks so yeah, this is an actual good deal (that is if its still in stock and you are in the market for an 800 dollar monitor).

Correct. The newer model does. But that is the only difference. This monitor still supports everything. Unless you're specifically hooking this up to a console, lack of hdmi 2.1 doesn't matter. It features Display Port 1.4 with DSC for a full 4k@160hz 4:4:4 experience.
