This is a great deal for those that are already using Dasaquin.

As someone that has been in the animal health industry since 2007, I would like to offer a different product for consideration. I do not have ANY affiliation with this product, just extensive personal experience with both products.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008KHL...TMX039AP4Z

The Synovi G4 offers a better "blend" that addresses more things that tend to occur within the joint and surrounding tissue than the Dasaquin.
Inflammation, free-radicals, synovial fluid production.

In all fairness, there is another Dasaquin product that is almost as comparable (primarily missing the Creatine Monohydrate which supports muscle tissue that tends to waste on older dogs) to the Synovi G4. It called Dasaquin Advanced and it is WAY more expensive than the Synovi G4 and at least 2x the price of this Dasaquin.

Again, my experience is with both products and got incredible feedback from pet owners that were using the Synovi G4, many of which had been using Dasaquin prior.

My ONLY motivation to make this post is help people pick the best product for their pet and save the human some $$$ in the process.

My vet recommended these and they were already much cheaper via S&S at Amazon so I've been buying these that way for a couple of years. Just started doubling up on these for her (ie, twice per day) and she's just over the 60 lbs so this is a really good deal.

Not that I'm complaining, but after 15% S&S, 20% off, and the coupon, it came to $18 and change:

Item(s) Subtotal:$56.99
Shipping & Handling:$0.00
Subscribe & Save:-$8.55
Extra Savings:-$20.00
Your Coupon Savings:-$11.40
Total before tax:$17.04
Estimated tax to be collected:$1.13
Grand Total:$18.17
I was gonna post this. My wife had a coupon available, but I did not. She got it for $18, I got it for $34.

Thank you for your input. Our vet recommended Dasuquin several years ago for our senior Shih Tzu. But our very picky dog has never been a fan of either the chews or the tablets so I'm happy to hear of another option we can try that he might like more and may work better too. I'm tired of having to cut his Dasuquin into tiny pieces, smearing them with cream cheese, and physically jamming it all down his throat every day!

What drug do vets prescribe gor senior dogs with mobility issues/pain? My moms dog is on whatever that is, is this product worthwhile compared to the medicine?

I think it's prednisone or similar.

Adequan. I buy box that contains two 5mL bottles. Not for pain but for issues, which over time could help prevent pain if using this.

Pred is a steroid and not recommended for long time usage as it can trigger Cushing.

For supplements that are a pain management/anti-inflammatory product, there is one called Alenza.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07767G...YAV49W0VXX

It is not a "joint supplement" it is a natural anti-inflammatory. However, by managing inflammation, the joint health is still maintained because inflammation destroys healthy cartilage.

One of the most important things about the Alenza is the fact that it has NO negative impact to liver and kidneys, which is a major concern with NSAIDS.

I got something like this from the vet. My dog stopped yelping because her hips were bothering her. We tried these and she went back to crying every time she jumped off the bed.

Back on the stuff from the vet and she's much better. If your dog has serious issues talk to your vet.

Peanut butter always works for our picky eaters when giving medicine.

Does this help protect against issues for younger dogs? Or is it strictly for dogs that already have arthritic issues?
