I went with one of these [amazon.com] and never looked back. The blade stays out automatically when you pull it out and comes back in when you push a button. Always seemed like a better design to me.

Fraction markings are legit. No one wants to count those little lines, subdivide, then do mental math (Most people don't use fractions or measuring tapes often.

Fun fact, someone said that Komelon is the only brand that actually makes their own tape measurers.

oh i see. i don't know much about tape measures even though i use one frequently. the one i have is pretty old though and it breaks at probably 5 or 6 feet. i didn't know others were double that. i love my tape otherwise though

An okay deal if you just want something to use and will probably not use it again. But if you're serious with measuring and a heavy user then Project Farm covered tape measures but it will cost much more than this deal.

The top tape measures recommended from best to worse:
DeWalt DWHT36225S (No Magnet though)
Craftsman CMHT37935S
Stanley Fat Max FMHT33865S
Kobalt KB73425

While the DeWalt was the best it didn't have magnets like the other tape measures.
