Yes.
The newer ones use a different interface, and cost A LOT more.

Is there any real advantage over any other External HDD with USB 3.0? I'm already running one, but I've been waiting to catch a SSD when I've got money.

Will this work with a PC or Mac as external storage instead of using it for Xbox?

I'd say no. In fact, Target lists the specs as 5400. There are other externals with 7200 which would be a slight improvement. $45 for a 2tb external doesn't seem like a great deal consider 4tb can be had for $50-60 if you wait for sales. Unless I'm missing something huge about this drive, I'd say pass.

Thanks. I'll wait for a further price drop.

I have a 1 TB HDD and an SSD on my One S and the SSD boots up twice as fast as the HDD. My HDD is a little older so it probably can't take advantage of all the 3.0 speeds but that's just my experience. The SSD actually boots pubg faster than the internal drive on the Xbox.

This also comes with a month of game pass, which adds some value, but yeah this is just a rebranded 5400 RPM HDD. Nothing special about it.

This doesn't appear to be a great deal. I would get a larger external, a SSD, or wait for the Xbox SSD if you own a newer console. Otherwise, this appears to just be a regular external 2TB, please correct me if I'm mistaken.

The internal drive on every Xbox One was just a 5400 RPM HDD, so yeah pretty much any SSD is gonna run circles around it.

USB 2.0 tops out around 30MB/s whereas slow HDDs with USB 3.0 are roughly 100MB/s, so still a big uplift.
