We have these in our house built in 2016. They are builders grade and god awful annoying when the batteries die. Instead of chirping or something the whole fire alarm system goes off until you remove the dead one or change it's battery. Also, you don't know which one has actually died and have to remove them all until you find it. So if you have a newer house like ours with 8 to 10 foot ceilings and 10 of these in the house, this takes a while while the fire alarm keeps annoying the neighborhood. LOL.

When 1 set of batteries die why not replace all the alarm batteries?
Throwing away batteries before they die seems like a waste of money to me and adds to waste earlier than needed. Just my two cents.
Same. Whenever I hear that Daylight Saving Time is when you should change the batteries in your smoke alarm, I just think, "Uh...no" in an Ed from Good Burger voice.
One note that got me.... the term "interconnect" in the product description. This unit DOES NOT interconnect with ANYTHING! It's not hard wired and it does not have wireless link.
I ended up cancelling my order after reading the reviews about the terminology complaints.
Only buy if you're interested in a battery only unit.
OP: Can you change your post? This does not have battery backup....
