Anker has great support and generally great products but the picture quality of the Anker Roav camera I had was absolutely awful. You couldn't make out a license plate in broad daylight. I had the Anker Roav C2.

Pretty sure people have complained about this unit shutting down due to the heat.

I have the s1 and the camera quality is excellent day and night. In fact I have it turned down because 720p60 meets my needs and increase durstion.

It's possible you have a bad unit or my standards are too low.

Edit: so I went back and viewed some video I have saved from my dash cam. The camera handles the day and night very well. The image clarity is great BUT the detail is lacking. In fairness I do have mine turned down but when I tried to zoom in and read tags it was near impossible even under ideal circumstances. I've always assumed it would be more for who ran the red light type stuff but for hit and run id mine would be of little value. I may tweak the setting some but I could see the value in higher resolution now.

This is a nice camera especially for the price. I own it and also the Vantrue N2 Pro which is almost identical, almost three times the price and doesn't include GPS which you have to buy the module separately. Vantrue gave me the GPS module for free when I asked about it. My point being is that this is a great deal vs the comparable Vantrue.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy this at this price if I needed another. its a solid camera with nice features and great company support. The hardwire kit is a must have add on for another $20.

No shutdowns yet. So Cal heat. Can say the suction mount has unmounted a few times. Had since Jan 2020 and its been great with the hard wired kit . Caught so many close calls with accidents and kids running in front of the jeep. Sometimes I do meetups in front of the jeep and it'll record. Support has been very good in receiving a free suction mount. I managed to get 2. A lightning cable card reader is helpful with the no wifi option. Its faster that way.

Camera wise, the vehicle had to be atleast 3 car lengths to get a recognizable plate. One time I drove down through a 2 ft high divider, was very bumpy and the cam didnt record that because it was pretty shakey. Anything else it records fine.

Video quality is decent, but the GPS on mine is abhorrent, randomly flashing to some place in India as if I was teleporting during my drive. Also, I wish there were a better way to export the data without having to view it in their software.

It's been great operating in the Las Vegas heat, caveat is the plastic mount gets too hot it peels off the adhesive during peak summer hours. I'd have to press the plastic mount to the adhesive while my car's A/C is on full blast to keep it in place. Only an issue if outside temperature is above 110 degrees F. Someone mentioned a suction mount in a post above, I may have to reach to customer support about that.

Any info on getting free suction mount? I'm in Las Vegas & it's our heat causes the adhesive to peel off from the included plastic mount.
