There's a shitstorm brewing for all these companies that are doing a bait and switch on their products. Consumers don't like being ripped off and it only takes one Youtuber to blow the whistle and cause a stink. Good times!

The question is, if 360 TBW is to believed, is this a good buy? Seems maybe it is.

This thing on average might only last like a year or two. If a company changes components like this without revising the p/n and model number, it should be completely illegal.

Excellent deal. Also qualifies for the promo, so you can basically add something that's $10 for free.

PC hardware seems excluded from that sale?

Is this a price mistake?

The high endurance for the earlier models at a mid price level was the primary reason to buy these SSDs. I have the 256GB ones purchased when a vendor made a pricing mistake on Amazon and sold new ones at $15 each. It was honored. Performance is pretty good while not top level. They run relatively hot. Seem to run very hot when first installed and then settle down.

It suspect it is a derating for warranty reasons than a component change. It is a drastic step because that was one of their well advertised features. Or somebody found the original rating was overstated.

But whatever the reason the lack of transparency makes them join the list with Adata for me of brands to avoid. Unless, I find another pricing mistake for a steal like this one… Smilie
