Competition is good for the consumer, if the service stinks, it will go away on it's own. If there is a monopoly they can charge you as much as they like, and you have no other choice. No one is forced to use all of the available services at once, just bounce around, taking advantage of all the deals and offers.

I've heard many stories of people being charged, even though they canceled on time.

That service sucks

Not only is there virtually nothing on there, but we went to watch the 2nd season of the Real World and in every 30 minute episode there were AT LEAST two commercial breaks that were 330 seconds long.

A minimum of 11 minutes of commercials, during 22 minutes of content, on a service I paid for.
Maybe you're new to multi-tier streaming services, but it's very clearly stated when you signed up that the cheaper tier/package is ad-supported, while the more expensive one is ad-free. This is common practice across many streaming services today.

The issue I outlined was not the presence of ads

The issue is the presence of ads totalling more than 50% of the actual time of the content.

I have never once encounted a 5 1/2 minute ad break, let alone two, even on a FREE service

30 days is plenty to see everything worth seeing, I think, unless you're into the tv shows. But there are good movies on this that aren't on Netflix. The newer Terminator movie, which I loved, a newer James Bond Movie, the Mission Impossible movies (3 and 4 specifically are great), Jack Reacher, Arrival..and that was it for me as far as I can remember. I couldn't find anything else that I thought was worth watching over what's available on Netflix. But of course I'm sure others have much different tastes in what moves on Paramount Plus are 'good.'

We're far from a monopoly with Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, and a few others. They have no incentive to collude.

We're on a path towards screwing ourselves over, that's all I'm saying. Many of these services will fail, but if we sign up for them at all, we're already voting with our dollars.

Cable cutting was the only thing I've ever "early adopted" and I just hate to see it becoming just Cable 2.0

Why would you subscribe to them all at once?
Why would you want to keep up with juggling them on/off as deals arise? Maybe 5% of the population can keep that up, but I'm speaking for the mass market.

Boycott all these streaming spin-offs, maybe they'll realize that working with Hulu or Netflix is better for consumers (and themselves). Or we can just chase them all down and end up paying $150/mo for 10 different streaming services and wonder how we got into this mess…
You don't have to sign up for all of them. Pick what you want and only pay for that. I mean, wasn't the whole cable thing was that everything bundled up and a decent plan would cost $100+? If you want to, you can swap services every few months so you only have to pay for 3-4 at a time. I would definitely do that if I wasn't so addicted to video games.

I wasn't talking about deals. Who has time to watch more than 2 or 3 streaming services. Just rotate your subscriptions for what you want to watch.

You are dumb . You're NOT suppose to sign up for every damn streaming service that exist. You change them up each month. Holy cow are lacking common sense.
Or, if you got everything from one source, that is consumer friendly. If you want to jump around from service to service, that's on you. To claim that's the wise choice is sheer ignorance.

Hulu is Disney, they just want to keep thier brand pure.
