Competition is good for the consumer, if the service stinks, it will go away on it's own. If there is a monopoly they can charge you as much as they like, and you have no other choice. No one is forced to use all of the available services at once, just bounce around, taking advantage of all the deals and offers.

I've heard many stories of people being charged, even though they canceled on time.

The is the worst service. I've had it 2 months and can't watch a single movie. Everything skips literally every 2 minutes. Tried on my tv and on my phone.
Sounds like user error. I was just watching that new Marky Mark movie and the Picture Quality was amazing. The movie itself was awful, even by Wahlburg standards.

In this case it isn't good for the consumer. Any channel That had 1 show people kind of liked 20 years ago thinks they should have their own streaming channel, so they put their 1 show on there then make a bunch of new garbage content as filler. So now not only are those channels not worth paying for because they only have that 1 show, they are also making it so streaming services like Hulu aren't worth it anymore because everyone is pulling the rights to their content to go make their 1 show crappy streaming service. Hulu is owned by Disney and Hulu and Disney+ both have the Simpsons, but Hulu doesn't have the old episodes and Disney+ doesn't have the newest episodes as they air like Hulu does. A crap move to have you subscribing to both. I currently don't have any TV subscriptions because of this. It's going to drive people back to cable.

Yup. Happened to me. They didn't budge either, even after repeated calls. The website clearly listed the DAY I had to cancel by. I did. I was then charged anyway. According to customer service, they calculate it down to the hour/minute. I said that the website doesn't say that anywhere. They said tough luck.

I got a 6 month deal to watch the NCAA tournament but haven't watched it since. HBO Max for the win with Amazon Prime mixed in.

Thats why I have a CitiBank card - their virtual card number generator lets you set a $ and/or time limit - no more being charged for services you may have difficulty cancelling. 2% cash back, too!

Nice perk. I've used privacy, but have been thinking of getting that card for the 2%.

Heads up, surround sound is not supported on all devices.

For example I have a brand new, high end LG OLED tv but their app is stereo. The app on Chromecast with Google TV outputs 5.1

Use Paypal and cancel the subscription manually if needed. Use Paypal for just about any subscription, makes canceling a breeze.
Exactly this. And OP means cancel the automatic subscription within PayPal for the vendor (Paramount+ in this case) and then they won't have the ability to charge you anymore even if they try.

There's isn't enough on Netflix or Hulu to keep them year round at Retail price, IMO.

Right now I have Apple+ for 4 months free. Paramount+ for free. 3 months of Disney+ for free. Starz and Discovery+ for $1 per month. I can't actually even watch all that. I kinda wished they were staggered out more.
I've been able to keep going from trial to trial for at least 2 years now. If there ever is a gap, I'll catch up on Prime or sign up for Netflix for a month or two.
Well I have Netflix, Amazon Prime & Disney +. I don't even have time to watch my Amazon Prime and Disney+ cuz my Netflix list keeps growing LOL
