I have had this system for about 6 months with no complaints. Added the 2K doorbell and have 360 degree view of my property. No cloud fees and can rewind for about 14 days.

I am considering upgrading from 1080 set. Does it still trigger motion detection event when each camera goes from daytime to night mode?

Looks like the box has incorrect labeling only 60" cables instead of 100" listed.

These are considerably down-spec'd from previous generations, if we're going by the image sensor. The "security system" bits for the windows/doors and motion sensor need to be rebooted about every week, as they become non-functional.

Bench test your set for at least a week, a month is better. These cameras have had serious QC issues since their introduction. It took me three sets and two returns to cobble together a fully functional kit.

The NVR is much quieter than previous generations, but the "fusion" feature (wired and wireless capability) is useless if you use all 8 cams. It will only use 8 total channels, wired or wireless.

The resolution is decent during live view, and the night vision is decent, but the newer sensors don't have the distance the old sensors did. There's also considerable latency with the two-way talk.

Its a great kit for the price, fantastic value overall, just know you're making serious compromises everywhere.

Yes. Especially since it usually triggers the built-in lights.

Great feedback.
I agree. I think this is a great kit for indoors (Less light changes etc) but for outdoors it struggles on distance, clarity and consistency. As my dad once said.. "Dont cheap out on security things like guns, condoms and door locks.."

Looks interesting. Might be time to upgrade my old LaView cameras with something a little more modern.

I can't tell if you can stream all 8 cameras at the same time on the phone app. By any chance, do you know the answer for it?

Depends on what you want to do.
  • Do you want a system that will show you a car moving on the road, and people walking on the sidewalk, and their dog pooping on the yard? yeah, this will do.
  • Do you want to be able to recognize the person or read the license plate by reviewing the video? No - you will need something considerably better.
Also, consider where the camera will be mounted. If you mount it 11 ft above the ground, you will likely not see the face of anyone in your frontyard.

Looking for something to view the face of the person.
