I know this isn't what you asked, but I would really encourage you to go the self build route. It really isn't hard. There are maybe a couple of "difficult" moments like setting the CPU or applying thermal late for the first time, but these sound much scarier than they really are. And there are great YouTube videos for everything now.
Just my opinion... but if you can afford to keep your workstation separate than your server that's definitely the route to go. The xeons probably have ecc memory as well, not sure how important that is these days but probably is if it's a used as a fileserver.

Idk... 5950x is also kind of overkill if you're not using the machine as a workstation. 5900x is probably more than enough. This is a good price though, I probably would have made the jump myself if I could have snagged it for this price instead of $850.

migrating to next generations could be really hard, like, I ahve already invested 16GB*4 *2 on DDR4, think about the cost to move to fully ryzen 6000 + DDR5 32GB*4 or DDR5 64GB*2! This means at least for a short period this would be the best proecssor you may get for ddr4 gens

That cpu was on my first computer ever back in 1998. Played Diablo 1 and 2 with it.

I have a 3700x I'm using for my work station/everyday system.
I'm using a 3600 for my workstation daily. With 64GB RAM. Often running 6 mostly idle VMs. I'm looking at this and the base speed is 3.4 vs 3.6. Cores 16 vs 6. Maybe this will help 2% of my usage when doing full rebuilds on large projects. Nice to have, but cheaper CPUs provide such great value! Hard to justify this is an upgrade unless you're building a video editing or build server or have some specialized workflows.

I honestly wouldn't recommend this CPU, it performs well in games don't get me wrong. Though with the number of cores it is expected to be a multi tasker. That being said this CPU is limited to dual channel memory, which means Iif you have a few applications running that are memory hoggers it can create a bottleneck. With the number of cores one is expected to have quad channel support, but only their more expensive CPUs support this. So if you can't get more channels, then getting ram with extremely good timings is recommended. This is true for all AMD CPUs, but especially this one.

My other issue with this CPU is that it can't be air cooled. Well, it can, but not with good temperatures. The 5900x can be air cooled and have its temperatures under 60c most of the time. This CPU really needs an AIO to keep it nice and cool.
