Newegg has the Honeywell Home RTH9585WF1004 Smart Thermostat for $129.99. Yes, I know there are third party sellers on Amazon selling for a similar price, but Resideo warns about buying from Amazon third party sellers of potentially buying an inauthentic product (plus potential lack of warranty).

I read about some heating issues (literally the unit getting hot and the screen blanking out) with the color thermostats. I have been sticking with the monochrome for that reason. Not sure if there is much, if any, difference in function and they are much cheaper. I have eight total in four different locations and they all work excellent with the app.
That being said, this is a good deal at about $10 cheaper than other retailers (eg, walmart).

Good deal if you're in the market for such a thermostat, but I'd recommend folks check through their utility first. Lots of utilities offer great deals on thermostats and other devices in order to help with load management on their side. Then by through a retailer if your area doesn't have such a deal.

Yes totally agree - both NEST and Ecobee have been alternatively free in Arizona for APS consumers - and there are multiple threads for utility company subsidized thermostats….

This is a very bad product, go with the popular smart thermostat, not this half ars one. I bought one before, maybe not exactly the same model, but it's just PITA, don't want to list all the problems here, just say, you will regret paying more than free for this. Gave to a friend who has one without WiFi. They took it because it's free.

This is not a bad product. Do your own research and look at the reviews on it. I have this exact model, the display does not get hot and has never blanked out. It was easy to install and it connected to my WIFI with no issues. Have had no issues with it at all, works perfectly and looks great.

I have this thermostat, not sure if its the color one or not but all I have to say is it's rock solid for me. It gives me a monthly break down of how I compare to usage from last year. I can control it with Google Home, the app, etc. Have had it for 3 years without a hiccup.

I agree that it's NOT a bad product. If you look around, you will see that they're highly rated and recommended. I purchased two for my home about a year ago. I have nothing but good things to say about them. I can use my phone or Google Home to control them. They were pretty easy to install & have a lot of nice options & features. I bought them on sale for $99.

If you don't want to spend the money on a Nest or Ecobee, I highly recommend it.
