Shows my ignorance. I wasn't aware that cmr was a higher level than cl2. Thanks.

Does Monoprice not carry CL2 cabling? Don't think this is much use for most people in their house without it being rated for in wall use.

It says it's CMR rated, why wouldn't it be safe for in wall use?

If you are looking for Shielded, it is an extra $100 (unless there is a discount).

So networking beginner here; How does this differ from this stuff which looks like it's always $60 for 1000/ft?

Your link is CCA cable, aka copper cladded aluminum, which comes with a plethora of issues and is inferior to this product.

The amazon cable is CCA (copper clad aluminum), which is less desirable than this pure copper wire in the Monoprice cable. I also don't see that the cable is rated on the Amazon link. Lastly, the reviews for that Amazon cable arent looking so hot. I think you could get away with the cheaper cable and be fine for a standard home network, but i wouldn't want to use that for anything i needed to be reliable. Installing cable sucks enough on its own, let alone running it a second time while trying to troubleshoot a bad run.

Technically cheaper since the inflation over the past 11 years was 21% LMAO or really... Mad

Looks like the blue u/ftp [monoprice.com] can be had for $165 for 1000 ft, but it's only rated CM vs CMR. Coupon for this deal unfortunately didn't work for it either. Looks like the coupon is even limited to just the 3 colors listed in the deal.
