Samsung ST retiring GPS tracker -
Received following from Samsung support:
Hello,
Thank you for being a member of the SmartThings family. We hope you've enjoyed the peace of mind that comes with your AT&T SmartThings Tracker. When we first launched this device in 2018, our goal was to help people more quickly and accurately keep track of their most valued items. These goals have been further realized through new devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag.
With this progress in mind, we are reaching out because the AT&T SmartThings tracker will be discontinued, effective October 31, 2021. On this date, we will no longer support the AT&T SmartThings Tracker and AT&T will also discontinue any services associated with your tracker.
Eligible customers may qualify for either a refund or electronic coupon depending on the purchase date of the product.
We know you might have questions, and we're here to make this process as seamless as possible.
What will happen after that date?
Your AT&T SmartThings Tracker and its associated mobile data service will no longer work. You will also no longer be able to use the SmartThings app to control the device.
How do I qualify for a refund?
Depending on the purchase date of the product, you may qualify for either a refund or an electronic coupon (e-coupon). Please visit www.samsungcso. com to begin the process. Only customers based in the US are eligible. Proof of Purchase is required or a validation of the Samsung Account used to activate your product.
What should I do with my equipment?
While no return is required, we encourage you to visit our Samsung Experience Stores, Samsung Care locations, or a local UBreakIFix for free and convenient disposal for responsible recycling. For more information, please visit here for more details.
What if I continue to receive service charges from AT&T?
The mobile SIM on the tracker will be deactivated on the effective date. Please contact AT&T regarding any charges you receive after that time.
Thank you,
The SmartThings Team.
