They're both sapphire crystals and automatic so yes they are basically the same watch aside from the intricate stuff nobody except watchmakers care about.

IMHO this kinda money will nab you a solid Seiko that looks much better than this (you may have to spend $30 on a new strap, but customizing is half the fun!)

Example google the following: Seiko Men's Black Nylon NATO Strap Automatic Dive Watch - SRPD79

this at least has a sapphire crystal and is common standard automatic movement. this is way better quality parts than the Seiko especially at this price. Even that glycine was better.
