But you can go to the topless doughnut store around the corner!!!!
But if you're also buying mobo, ram. gpu etc.then you can get a good bill going
Micro Center is set-up for the broad, system buy.and many people spend over $1000. I rarely but one things at MC (a MacBook Air once)
Plus in the metro area at this time of year, many NY people end-up in NJ anway so a side stop is not like going to Narnia.
A $2400 MacBook Pro could be approx 215 vs 38 in tax
and selling them for more $$$ then the dudes on offerup, ebay craigslist

True to a certain point. I could probably have kept on gaming and working on my 3770 for another two years. But there's a lot of side advances since 2012 - nvme, usb 3.1+, usb c, lots more fan headers (I have a ridiculous 11 unused fan headers right now, or something like that) case chassis differences, and don't forget windows 11. Plus, handbrake takes about 1/3 of the time and there's very real work benefits.
Without the gpu shortage, you could have spent the same money (~300) and probably almost doubled your fps (rtx 3060).
Old tech Ryzen 7 5800X should be about $300 now and $200 after October.
Just like rocket lake hype, Adler Lake going to be slower than AMD again.
give it a rest. nobody believes intel marketing.
and the 5800x is a CPU you can buy today.

I can validate that. I was in Microcenter in Tustin, CA today. The price was between $1600 - $2100. They actually restocked 3070 & 3080 while I was there. But I didn't bother.
