11th gen been out. this is a good deal for a 10700k...if only it wasnt in-store pickup only.
got a 10850k for 320 before i left atlanta microcenter like 3 weeks ago
Got the same cpu from microcenter (I had the option of getting a 5600x or spending a little bit more to get a 5800x) I opted for the 10850k. losing PCI-E 4.0 sucked but the 10850k is great little cpu for the price. I don't regret going intel one bit.
Aren't the 11-gen CPUs out? Or are those laptop-only? (Intel is so confusing)
If you are a gamer and are "wondering how the new 11700K stacks up against the old 10700K, it looks like this. There are a few decent wins for either chip but put them all together and the difference is about 1% in favor of the 11700K." quoted from https://www.techspot.com/review/2...vs-10700k/

Intel desktop 11-gen is the last 14 nm refresh but uses new Tiger Lake layout/ core design (Rocket Lake)
Tiger lake is way faster IPC, runs relatively cool. Rocket lake is limited to 8 cores and runs really hot.
The "real" 11th gen on 10nm is slated for release in October with the Alder Lake series of cpu. Supposedly 20% faster IPC.
