Just an FYI - AQ Textiles was sued recently for misrepresenting the thread count of their sheets.

High thread counts doesn't necessarily = high quality sheets. And many companies misrepresent or lie about their thread counts anyways.

Bought these in February and have been very happy with them. Have washed weekly and no pilling or shedding, they have a nice light texture to them. Picked up another set for backup this week too. They were a little thick/stiff to start with but softened up after a few washes.

I've bought a couple of these sets and the problem is that they are very much on the thin side; not what you would expect from a thread count that high.
Was it this exact product, or a similar one? Another user reports these being "thick/stiff" which confiicts with your report.

ALL TC-s over 400 are bogus for 100% cotton sheets.
More like over 500 thread they turn to shit, which is quite common

Normally quality high thread count sheets have a weight to them. The 1200 tc AQ Textiles sheets I bought for abour $30 last black friday have extremely thin threads. They look like fluff balls when they pill. The sheets are light, a bit rough, and they tend to pill in the wash. The low price seems on point given their quality.

Crazy high thread count like this means one of two things. Either it's heavy or the threads are very fragile. Since this one is thin, expect pilling and tearing in the wash pretty quickly

There are more fake high thread count (like this '800') sheets on the market then real thread counts.

I'm pretty darn sure these are not real 800 threads. The question is are they still good high thread sheets even if the '800' isn't accurate.

I do not know. I bought 2 sets though to test one and find out.

Wish I knew how to tell before I buy.
The above commenter said they are light which makes me believe they are microfiber sheets vs regular cotton sheets. If your ok with that kind of fiber you'll be fine! I personally don't care for microfiber and 33$ is actually high for that kind of sheet. My guess is that's how they got sued at the higher price and was defiantly a misconception!

It says cotton right there in the title and description. That would be blatant false advertising

Please read my comment above. I purchased this exact set in February (comparing the WebID from my past purchase), they are 100% cotton and are really nice COTTON sheets that were a little on the thick side but softened up after a few washes. No pilling either.

The person who said these are light must have not purchases this exact set. Pretty sure I know the difference between microfiber vs cotton and thin vs thick sheets.nod

I recently bought a mattress that is supposed to keep you "cool" but would wake up feeling like I was sleeping on a hot plate. Went back to the store and the salesman asked me what the thread count on my sheets were. I told him they were a high thread count (over 900 currently I believe) to which he claimed that was why. He insisted that I only needed about a 300 thread count. Anyone else heard about a high thread count affecting the heat of your mattress? I figured higher meant finer fibers, which translated to more breathability. Fortunately, I found a mattress topper that dialed down the temps a bit. I'll be curious to see how this count affects my sleep.

Macy's is back at it again with their over exaggerated "original pricing"
Only good thing macys does is last act clothes items. I buy my ralph lauren stuff there for like 30$ a shirt. Definitely saving money compared to 98% of other places.

Yeah, but that reviewer might have been a shill planting the idea that the sheets aren't the thin cheap kind. Only one reviewer made any kind of reference to them being thick, that I saw.

Time will tell, I ordered 2. I have a trigger finger to make the return if the sheets suck.

It's getting harder and harder to do good research.
